We have an opportunity for a Lead Engineer with experience in labs to join our dynamic Technical Resource Group team and work onsite for one of our key customers based in Braine L’Alleud.


The Lead Engineer will assume additional responsibilities to their technical role. He will act as the Lead Engineer for the Team onsite and is engaged to be single point of contact between the Team and the Operations Manager.

 

 

What You'll Do


Working as part of a dynamic team you will be providing 1st and 2nd line on-site user support. This includes analyse incidents, problems & service requests, propose solutions and help implementing them. You will also be responsible for any escalation and follow up.

 

Some of the daily activities are:
•    Incident management, level 1 and 2, for hardware, OS and software, according to procedures, or best effort
•    Service Request management
•    Asset management
•    International support on-call in a 24/7 team
•    Follow-up on incidents and requests
•    Hardware configuration of workstation or system (bar code reader, label printer, network equipment, etc.)
•    Installation and configuration of OS and software
•    Delivery, installation and integration of the equipment and the network on-site
•    Restore hardware and software functionality by replacement or repair
•    Manage access rights for Windows (AD and local) and software
•    Drafting of procedures, execution of test sheets in the scope of projects
•    Participate in the maintenance of documents
•    Coaching the end-user
•    Technical advice
•    Communicate any useful information to colleagues and / or coordinator

 

 

What You'll Need


The Lead Engineer will ensure the service is provided within the SLA’s and KPI’s agreed in the contract. He will be accountable for any deviation and will have to apply governance and follow the escalation model as required. He will promote Computacenter’s policies and procedures and will ensure that health and safety compliance is highlighted and maintained.


Overall, the Lead Engineer will maintain supervisory control across a range of engineering activities to ensure the day-to-day smooth running of the assignment. He will act as on-site IT engineer in a chemical and biological production and laboratories (R & D, clinical trials, manufacturing) environment and has 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar position. The Lead Engineer will join a 24/7 Standby rotation (approx. 7 calendar days per month).


The ideal candidate will be an expert in dealing with customers at all levels; you bring hands-on technical skills as well as great interpersonal skills.

 

Knowledge:
•    Experience in a validated environment 
•    Master PC hardware architecture
•    Master Windows OS
•    General knowledge on backup, archiving, images. (data management, DRP)
•    Functional knowledge of client/server architecture
•    Functional knowledge of network architecture
•    Experience with a ticketing tool
•    Certifications such as Windows OS, and ITIL are nice to have
•    Experience with a MES or SCADA is a plus
•    Basic knowledge of GMP regulations is a plus
•    Basic knowledge of project management
•    Basic knowledge of security
•    Very good communication skills, both verbal and written in French & English (technical)
•    A valid driver’s license B
