Human Resources Benefits Specialist

Position Overview 

The Human Resources Benefits Specialist will help support and drive the business towards its corporate objectives. This position reports to the Director of Reward & HR Business Support and the responsibilities will focus on the development and execution of HR strategies, policies, initiatives, processes and practices in areas such as benefits, rewards, performance management, compensation, payroll, employee engagement, and business support.   



  • Main point of contact for all FMLA, LOA and ADA claims, ensuring the employee’s documentation is in order and their status is maintained in the system and with the insurance providers. Provide consistent follow up with employee throughout their leave while keeping the reporting manager informed on the leave status and return to work dates 

  • Main point of contact for Worker’s Compensation claims for the US ensuring the claims are filed in a timely manner, the employee’s medical needs are addressed immediately and work with insurance company throughout the entire claim process 

  • Manage and maintain the weekly benefit census to ensure new hires are enrolled in the benefit system for their employment start date 

  • Maintain the quarterly FMLA census report for the 3rd party FMLA service provider 

  • Own and organize wellness initiatives such as flu shot clinics, informational webinars, etc. for the US 

  • Work closely with the benefit broker representative for benefit related inquiries, leave requests and compliance filings 

  • Run the new hire and benefit orientation sessions on a weekly or bi-weekly basis 

  • Maintain the core HR data in the HCM SAP system and ensure the integration to ADP is working correctly to ensure the data is accurate between both systems 

  • Maintain ticket system for integration issues between SAP and ADP 

  • Run ad-hoc reports as requested in SAP, ADP and UKG  

  • Maintain company’s annual HR compliance filings such as EEOC, etc.  

  • Participate in HR related meetings, maintain notes and follow-up on pending items through resolution 

  • Actively engage in the center of excellence objectives for benefits, pay review, sharesave, and bonus planning for the US  

  • Maintain employee files in all HR related systems and personnel folders with the highest level of confidentiality 

  • Assist HR Business Partners with immigration and covid matters when necessary 

  • Assist with the preparation of promotion, change and raise notification letters 

  • Provide a high level of customer service by timely responding to employee inquiries 

  • Assist in developing, communicating, enforcing and maintaining company policies, procedures and processes while adhering to Federal and State employment laws 

  • Partner with business leaders to deliver services that support company objectives and that are consistent with Winning Together values

Education & Experience Required 

  • Legally eligible to work in the United States 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Management, Psychology or related field or equivalent Human Resources experience of 5+ years in a corporate environment 

  • Experience with ADP and UKG payroll systems 

  • Experience with SAP ERP system 

  • Experience with FMLA, LOA, ADA and Workers’ Compensation process 

  • Experience maintaining calendars and communications 

  • Knowledge of employment laws related across the United States

  • Excellent employee customer service skills, including being proactive and responsive, with diligent task follow through skills 

  • Strong interpersonal, communication (verbal/written) and presentation skills are a must 

  • Possess a strong sense of urgency 

  • Extremely organized and process driven 

  • Exceptional attention to detail is a must 

  • Proficient in MS-Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and has strong HRIS skills (ADP, UKG, SAP a plus) 

  • Solid time management skills, a “can-do” attitude and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment 

  • Ability to work independently, be decisive, and demonstrate sound judgment 

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information
