Solutions Architect 1

About the role
The primary responsibility of the Solution Architect 1 is to be a technical Subject Matter Expert. You will be a recognized technical thought leader, capable of ‘big picture thinking’ on a solution area/category, with substantive depth on a few core technical/solution elements. You will bring technical credibility to accounts, present solutions to customers and bring Pre-Sales and go-to-market support to strategic accounts. You will work closely with the Account Managers and Solution Specialists for sales pursuits and pipeline growth. Additionally, you will maintain technical vendor relationships with our key partners and stay abreast of the respective new solutions advancements. 

 

What you'll be doing

  • Partners with business leaders to deliver services that support company objectives and that are consistent with Winning Together values.
  • Provide deep subject matter expertise and have the desire and ability to complete tactical work. 
  • Provide technical marketing, thought leadership and related support.
  • Define and deliver the Go to Market (GTM) strategy and bring to fruition.
  • Engage in key accounts, develop credibility and help build out technical solutions.
  • Develop long-term customer relationships with clients through managing and interpreting their requirements. 
  • Stay current on technical solutions and engaging with vendors. 
  • Create in-depth technical design documentation and corresponding documents (Technical Presentation, Visio Diagrams, Level of Effort (LOE), and Bill of Materials (BOM)).
  • Engage and work closely with key vendors
  • Attend Customer opportunity / strategy meetings to understand and articulate business and technical strategy for the company and customer.
  • Provide qualification of designs or opportunities and produce technical architecture/design documentation
  • Act as Design Authority for nominated key accounts
  • Work as technical designer on enterprise scale, mission-critical customer projects        
  • Work with peers to advise and recommend on future technology and services
  • Research technology and deliver associated white papers to promote Computacenter’s offerings.
  • Maintain high level of industry awareness through training and self-development
  • Engage in, and manage, Customer demonstrations and Proofs of Concept
  • Development of service offerings, utilizing newly released products having ensured that functionality claims are valid. 
  • Ensure that proposed solutions are valid and meet Customer requirements.
  • Maintain subject matter expert status with designated vendors.
  • Embrace and support Computacenter’s mission and core values.

 

What you have

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent work experience.
  • 3 – 5 years of presales engineering and solutioning or consulting
  • Understanding of breadth of technology and adaptable to new technology advancements.
  • Technology implementation experience (preferred).
  • Expertise in several hardware and software technologies and professional services solutions.
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States. 
  • Ability to design in-depth, complex technical solutions 
  • Relevant industry leading qualification or accreditation in one or more technology
  • Knowledge of IT Infrastructure technology and its business application
  • Ability to develop and maintain client engagement and deliver solutions architecture presentations.
  • Demonstrable ability to provide input into commercial/technical documents and to develop solution specific business cases
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Industry leading knowledge in specialist Technology area.
  • Understanding of services methodology. 
  • Vendor Certifications a plus (including CISCO CCNP, Juniper JNCIS, Dell / EMC Storage or Networking Specialist, and or VMware VCP
