Head of Service Take-On

The Head of Service Take-On is responsible for all Managed Service Take-Ons in the Americas. As part of the Managed Services Leadership team, this role will support new business opportunities, sign-off designs and govern the Americas elements of the take-on of new services. This role will be based on the East Coast and will report to the VP US Managed Services.




  • Partner with business leaders to deliver services that support company objectives and that are consistent with Winning Together values.
  • Align with the Group Service Take-On leadership to adopt and adapt Group standards for the benefit of US customers
  • Support Pre-Sales activities process for US and European-lead customers.
  • Sign off transitions for plans and costs for US customers.
  • Provide governance over service transition for US with European-led customers.
  • Lead Americas Service Take-Ons when required.
  • Provide Service Leadership post take-on, when required
  • Ensure effective quality assurance and the overall integrity of Service Take-Ons
  • Manage the budget, monitor expenditure and costs of the projects
  • Facilitate the appointment of individuals to project teams.
  • Manage communication with all stakeholders.
  • Embrace and support Computacenter’s mission and core values.


Supervisory Duties


  • Supervises, directs and controls the activities of assigned staff.
  • Interviews, schedules, trains and assigns work.
  • Establishes performance expectations and monitors results.
  • Develop and nurture a team to highlight strengths and raise the bar for talent.
  • Ensures a trained, motivated and professional staff capable of providing efficient and effective operations and exceptional member service.
  • Recommends the discipline and/or discharge of staff, while maintaining required personnel documentation.
  • Coaches and counsels’ staff, as necessary.


Education & Experience Required


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification
  • 10 years+ of experience managing and transitioning IT services
  • Experience managing operational and project budgets
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States.


Skills & Competencies


  • Proven leadership skills across teams and divisions
  • Ability to work under pressure and to prioritize own workload
  • Proven ability to manage multiple Service and Project scenarios concurrently
  • Good working knowledge of relevant commercial tools and systems e.g. cost & pricing tools, maintenance & logistics, resource planning and project planning.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to present at internal and external audiences
  • Ability to build relationships and communicate effectively at all levels and to influence sales team and customer through sound and well-structured thought processes supported where necessary with articulate and concise written work
