Accounting Administrator

About the role
The Accounting Administrator plays a crucial role in managing a company's financial operations. As the Accounting Administrator, you will serve on the Finance team managing financial records, managing end-to-end accounts payable and receivable process, reconciliations, and preparing financial statements.  

 

Location: Ottawa, Ontario, Canada (Remote) 


What you'll be doing

  • Partner with business leaders to deliver services that support company objectives and that are consistent with Winning Together values. 
  • Maintain accurate and current financial records at all times. 
  • Manage accounts payable and receivables, process invoices, and manage payments. 
  • Manage purchase order matching, receiving and reconciliation
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports. 
  • Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy
  • Set up and maintain vendor profiles
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations
  • Assist with tax filings
  • Provide support throughout audits
  • Monitor and manage cash flow and expenditures
  • Provide financial analysis and forecasting support
  • Support month-end and quarter-end close activities, including accruals and reporting
  • Collaborate with procurement, sales and finance teams to resolve invoice and purchase order issues

What you have

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent job-related experience is required. 
  • 4+ years of proven work experience in accounting or similar role 
  • Proficiency with accounting software, MS Excel and financial modeling
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States
  • Ability to work independently with strong decision-making skills. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must. 
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to establish a rapport and build professional relationships among all levels of the organization.   
  • Excellent employee customer service skills including being proactive and responsive with diligent task follow through skills.  
  • Possess a strong sense of urgency and is extremely organized and process driven.  
  • Proficient in Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Outlook) 
  • Solid time management skills, a “can-do” attitude and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information
