Principal Consultant (Data Center Infrastructure Specialist)
About the role
The Principal Consultant will lead the Data Center High Level Designs/Layer ZERO consulting. The Principal Consultant will be charged with designing a “Logical” solution for the customer that includes power, including Redundancy & Distribution, Cooling Layouts, Fire protection, Cabling. This resource can expect to work closely with a Network Consultant, Security Consultant, and End User Consultant. The Principal Consultant must be able to transform the current state of the data center, create a roadmap/path to the future state, specifically keeping in mind the direct impact it has on end users downstream. In this role you will act as a functional as opposed to hands-on architect.
What you'll be doing
- Partner with business leaders to deliver services that support company objectives and that are consistent with Winning Together values.
- Responsible for creation of IT architecture models and their high-level components, including working with SMEs on lower-level designs.
- Analyze requirements, assess current implementations and systems, and design migration solutions with the application architect to meet or exceed the stated objectives.
- Interpret, use, and apply information contained within IT architecture to inform a range of business improvement activities, particularly those involved in the design, development, enhancement, and maintenance of IT future state systems.
- Collaborate with all relevant parties to review the objectives and constraints of each solution and determine conformance with the Enterprise Architects.
- Recommend the most suitable technical architecture and define the solution at a high level.
- Recommend and participate in the development of architecture blueprints for related systems.
- Identify and recommend areas appropriate for further study and participate in any POC projects required to thoroughly investigate architectural possibilities and strengthen arguments for their adoption.
- Identify implementation risks and analyze potential impact on the enterprise and the achievement of scheduled objectives.
- Share best practices, lessons learned, and update the technical system architecture requirements based on changing technologies, and knowledge related to recent, current, and upcoming vendor products and solutions.
- Ensure the respective business, application, data, and technology perspectives are aligned to the organization’s future technology and governance strategies, policies, and standards.

What you have
- Bachelors degree or relevant experience
- 7-10+ years infrastructure transformation & migrations SME of Data Center Migration
- Legally eligible to work in the United States.
- Strong focus and experience around Data Center operations, relocation, decommission, physical infrastructure and site-to-site migrations.
- Experience developing and documenting deliverables and presenting to C-level customers.
- Experience making recommendations and participating in the analysis, evaluation, and development of enterprise long-term strategic and operating plans to ensure consistency with long-term business objectives.
- Fluent ability to manage multiple projects and programs simultaneously.
- Superior written and oral communications skills.
