Director of Resource Management
About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for Director of Resource Management in Computacenter’s Professional Services (PS) to join a dynamic and rapidly expanding Professional Services Organization where you will get to work with some of the most talented and passionate people in the business. This role is responsible for leading the teams that work across the organization with our delivery, sales and solutions units to ensure they can access the right resources, skills & services both internal to PS and externally via our partner network, in order to meet customer needs. The team is currently undergoing a transformation to better support the business we have today and provide the platform to help deliver the business aspiration and this role will be critical in driving that change.
What you'll be doing
- Resource Allocation: Develop and implement strategies for effective resource allocation across various projects, ensuring optimal utilization of personnel and skills.
- Forecasting & Planning: Collaborate with project managers and senior leadership to forecast resource needs and plan accordingly to meet project deadlines and client expectations.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of resource managers, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and professional growth.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance resource management practices, including the use of technology and tools.
- Reporting & Analytics: Develop and maintain resource management reports and dashboards, providing insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
- Budget Management: Monitor and manage the resource management budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
- Cost Planning and P&L responsibility for Partner & Resource Management.
- Evaluate and streamline processes and workflows to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Identify areas for automation, standardisation, and improvement to optimise service delivery.
- Work closely with the Practices to ensure optimal utilization of Professional Services employees considering headcount, skills and regions.
- Work closely with our network of partners to augment and enhance our Professional Services capability across the orginzation.
- Primary escalation point for key stakeholders regarding resourcing & partner related risks & issues.
- Develop and implement a Partner & Resource Management vision and strategy including methodology, tools, governance, project controls.
- Promote a continuous improvement and growth mindset function by encouraging innovation, knowledge sharing, and professional development within the team.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to drive operational excellence.
- Maintain appropriate governance and due diligence of the Partner & Resource Management team, including driving an increase in the ratio of Resource.
- Management services delivered from near & offshore locations.
- Drive standardized ways of working across the organization.

What you have
- Professional Services expertise at a senior level within an IT organization

- Proven track record of successfully developing and inspiring others, and engendering followership, with an ability to listen to and connect across all levels of the organization.
- Strong decision maker with extensive leadership experience and high self-awareness.
- Experience of running multi-geographic teams and driving adoption of near and offshore delivery locations.
- Experience of managing cross cultures
- Experience of working at a strategic level to enable the Division to perform effectively.
- Good knowledge and experience of SAP, MS Office and MS Teams
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strategic thinking and tactical execution skills
- Good knowledge of the IT industry and an understanding of IT technologies and products
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable communicating with colleagues in different countries where English is not the first spoken language
- Good self-organization and time management skills
