Director Professional Services Consulting Practice

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Director Professional Services Consulting Practice to join a dynamic and rapidly expanding Professional Services Organization. This role requires a strategic vision, strong leadership capabilities, and a deep understanding of market trends and complex technology engagements across IT Infrastructure, Data Center, Cloud, Networking, and Workplace technologies. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams both within the company and with our customers to establish growth strategies and drive innovative solutions, ensuring alignment with the company's mission and business objectives.

 

What You'll Be Doing
Leadership and Strategy

  • Serve as the P&L leader for the Consulting practice, with responsibility for OKRs and KPIs such as utilization targets.
  • Represent the practice at the PS Senior Leadership level, articulating strategy, growth metrics, and operational success.
  • Drive the execution of an integrated delivery model, balancing Computacenter and service partner delivery models, and setting and managing clear performance objectives.
  • Help us take our business to the next level of scale and excellence in delivery and governance.
  • Collaborate with the PS Senior Leadership team to define long-term visions and operational objectives.

Team Management and Development

  • Lead and inspire a national, cross-functional team of consultants and enterprise architects.
  • Build a world-class talent pipeline by attracting, developing, and retaining top professionals in cloud platforms, Data Center, Networking, Security and Workplace.
  • Work in a team of technologists, and delivery professionals among the best in their fields, developing the leadership and professional capabilities of your team.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Customer and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Establish and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, including, sales, customers, partners, and other internal teams.
  • Facilitate discussions to understand customer needs and articulate value propositions.
  • Partner with Sales, Solutions, and other PS Practices to build and oversee the solutioning and delivery of large-scale, complex, multi-phase engagements that deliver measurable business outcomes.
  • Share insights and best practices with the sales team to vet potential opportunities.

Operational Excellence

  • Maintain forecasting accuracy and operational excellence for all delivery engagements.
  • Set performance metrics for consulting initiatives and regularly review progress against goals.
  • Prepare and present reports to senior leadership on project developments and market insights.
  • Develop and implement strategies for onboarding new technical consulting projects that align with organizational goals.

Innovation and Market Analysis

  • Act as a technical thought leader, driving innovation and serving as a trusted advisor to internal teams, customers, and partners.
  • Understand and keep up to date through research to identify emerging trends, client needs, and potential consulting opportunities.
  • Analyze the competitive landscape and assess opportunities for differentiation.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to develop targeted campaigns that promote technical consulting services.

 

What You Have

  • 20+ years in the IT services industry with 12+ years of experience in professional services (data center/networking a plus).
  • Operational management experience working within an IT service organization.
  • Formal people management experience that can be leveraged to support your stakeholders.
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • A good knowledge of Professional Services.
  • A solid understanding of consultancy roles, responsibilities, and go-to-market strategies.
  • Good commercial and financial acumen along with strong communication skills to enable successful stakeholder interactions.
  • Excellent presentation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to develop others through coaching and mentoring.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships. Aware of the need to be emotionally intelligent, to adapt personal style and approach.
