Jr. Solution Builder Consultant

About the role

The Jr. Solution Builder Consultant will be a technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) on a solution area/category, with some depth on a few core technical/solution elements. You will bring technical credibility to solutions and provide Sales and Pre-Sales go-to-market support. You will work closely with the Sales, Pre-Sales and Partner Management sales pursuits and pipeline growth. Additionally, you will maintain technical vendor relationship with our key partners and stay abreast of the respective new solutions advancements. 
 

What you'll be doing

  • Partner with business leaders to deliver services that support company objectives and that are consistent with Winning Together values. 
  • Provide subject matter expertise and have the desire and ability to complete tactical work. 
  • Provide technical marketing assistance and related support. 
  • Work with Practice Director(s) and Partner Management to help deliver the Go to Market (GTM) strategy. 
  • Engage with Sales and Pre-Sales, develop credibility and help build out technical solutions. 
  • Stay current on technical solutions and engaging with vendors. 
  • Create Bill of Materials (BOM) and provide solution guidance in response to requests from Sales and Pre-Sales via Solution Builder Consultant (SBC) Tool. 
  • Engage and work closely with key Partners. 
  • Work closely with Vendors / Partners to keep up-to-date with current and future technologies, products and strategies to help manage the ‘cradle to grave’ solution provisions cycle. 
  • Work as technical designer on enterprise scale, mission-critical customer projects. 
  • Work with peers to advise and recommend on future technology and services. 
  • Maintain high level of industry awareness through training and self-development. 
  • Engage and assist with Customer demonstrations, assessments, and Proofs of Concept. 
  • Ensure that proposed solutions are valid and meet Customer expectations. 
  • Hold and maintain valid OEM certifications as prescribed by Computacenter. 
  • Travel may be required depending on location of client. 
  • Embrace and support Computacenter’s mission and core values. 


What you have

  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS) (preferred) or equivalent work experience. 
  • 3 – 5 years of presales engineering and solutioning. 
  • Understanding of technology and adaptable to new technology advancements. 
  • Some depth in one or more technology disciplines such as enterprise infrastructure, data center infrastructure, cyber security, collaboration, Hybrid cloud solutions etc. 
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written). 
  • Vendor Certifications as required. 
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada. 
  • Eligible for Secret Clearance which is minimum 10yrs in country and Canadian citizenship.  
  • Ability to design technical solutions. 
  • Relevant industry leading qualification or accreditation in one or more technology. 
  • In-depth knowledge of IT Infrastructure technology and its business application. 
  • Demonstrable ability to provide input into commercial/technical documents and to develop solution specific business cases. 
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills. 
  • RFx’s are a daily occurrence – must have prior experience in contributing with technical writing. Public sector procurement experience is preferred. 
  • Industry knowledge in specialist Technology area. 
  • Understanding of services methodology. 
  • Vendor Certifications a plus.
