Vice President of Finance Operations

Position Overview

As the Vice President of Finance Operations, you will be responsible for the overall management of the day-to-day functions of the accounting department in the United States. In this role you will own the monthly and annual financial close process including maintaining, modifying or creating processes and procedures to create efficiencies, own the Company general ledger and the accuracy and reliability thereof, oversee the Company’s revenue accounting and accuracy of its inventory accounting.  In addition, you will oversee the management of the annual audit and statutory audits as necessary. 

 

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Partners with business leaders to deliver services that support company objectives and that are consistent with Winning Together Values.

  • Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing of the accounting records
  • Provide oversight and review of the preparation of the monthly financial reporting package which includes a comparison of results against budget/forecast and key financial metrics
  • Assist the Commercial Finance team in completing the annual budget and quarterly forecast process
  • Coordinate the preparation of special analysis and/or reporting as requested by senior management
  • Collaborate with other departments on special projects as needed, including new system implementations
  • Oversee the Company’s revenue and inventory accounting and enforcement of related processes
  • Primary liaison with the external auditors during year end audits
  • Manage the US treasury process, including cash forecasting, currency hedging and debt compliance reporting if necessary, aligning with Parent company treasury
  • Manage the US credit and collections function
  • Manage the accounts payable function, leveraging global shared services center
  • Manage the sales and income tax function
  • Align and enforce accounting processes and Internal Control Over Financial Reporting (GAAP and ICFR) across the organization – identify and design process improvements or control changes as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Education & Experience Required

  • Legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • CPA required; MBA preferred
  • Management role within a Big 4 accounting firm
  • 10-15 years of relevant experience in a public/private mix, with at least 5 years in a senior finance role

 

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, with a focus on International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong cross-functional and interpersonal relationship building skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to create and implement effective processes & procedures
  • Ability to mentor & develop staff that operate in multiple locations
  • International exposure would be highly desirable.
  • Capable of managing projects to a deadline in a collaborative environment.
  • Self-motivated and comfortable with a changing environment.
  • Knowledge of business software including MS Excel, Outlook, Word & PowerPoint, and ERP Platforms – SAP experience is highly desirable.
  • Merger and acquisition experience.
