Senior Tax Analyst
About the role
The main responsibility of the Senior Tax Analyst is to manage indirect tax compliance including primary data gathering, workpaper preparation, reconciling sales tax accounts, filing indirect tax returns on a monthly basis and ensuring all taxes are paid in a timely fashion. This position is part of the tax group that includes direct tax and international tax.
What you'll be doing
- Partner with a team of tax professionals to consistently deliver all sales, use and property tax obligations
- Prepare, review, and analyze sales, use and property tax compliance data; continuously improve process, and recommend automation integration to improve the end to end compliance process.
- Collaborate with 3rd party consultants and internal parties to resolve indirect tax related issues, including but not limited to notices and business license matters.
- Prepare and manage all sales/use tax returns.
- Prepare, review and file various reports for state and local property tax reporting as well as other areas of tax compliance.
- Monitor sales tax reporting software database for integrity and maintenance.
- Maintain current knowledge of sales tax laws, updates, revisions, and inform management of issues affecting the company.
- Maintenance of sales tax accounts, including investigations and reconciles discrepancies.
- Support other departments with any tax requests in a timely manner.
What you have
- Legally eligible to work in the United States
- 3-5 years of sales tax compliance
- Good knowledge and experience of SAP, MS Office and MS Teams
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strategic thinking and tactical execution skills
- Good knowledge of the IT industry and an understanding of IT technologies and products
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Good understanding of state and local sales/use tax concepts, practice and procedures
- Good self-organization and time management skills
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple requests simultaneously
- Can build trust, be assertive when required and shows initiative and enthusiasm
- Resilience, and able to deal with stressful situations
- Business and financial acumen with strong analytical skills
- Demonstrate an understanding of product supply chains
- Commercially astute
