Operations Team Manager (people management)

About the role
The Technology Sourcing and Innovation “TSI” Team Manager will have managerial responsibilities for a large team and will be responsible for all aspects of people management within a functional area. The role will also be accountable for operational delivery and performance.

The role requires approximateiy 30% domestic travel.


What you'll be doing

  • Provide advisory role within specialist area to peer group, customers, and direct reports.  
  • Manages, develops, and coaches team of staff and implements performance management solutions where required.
  • Provides full line management responsibilities for direct reports.
  • Assess situations, issues and opportunities and escalate when appropriate.
  • A point of escalation on complex or serious issues or complaints and providing appropriate support to other team members.
  • Maintain confidentiality in all business-related matters.
  • Liaise with colleagues to ensure best practice and continual improvement in delivery of service to the business.
  • Establishes productive relationships and networks at an operational level to build and maintain customer relationships.
  • Responsible for the adoption of CC best practice and service offerings to ensure consistency of service.  
  • Act in accordance with Computacenter Information Security Policies and report any potential or actual Security events or other Security risks to the organization.
  • Embrace and support Computacenter's mission and core values. 

 

What you have

  • Legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources or related field, or equivalent experience
  • At least 5 years of experience in a people management role.
  • Experience of working in a challenging commercial environment.
  • Good working knowledge of relevant functional systems.
  • Experience of developing best practice policies and procedures for functional area.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strategic thinking and tactical execution skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable communicating with colleagues in different countries where English is not the first spoken language.
  • Good self-organization and time management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple requests simultaneously.
  • Can build trust, be assertive when required and shows initiative and enthusiasm.
  • Resilience, and able to deal with stressful situations.
  • Business and financial acumen with strong analytical skills.
  • Commercially astute.
  • Ability to act both independently and as part of a team.
  • Initiative to develop and expand knowledge.
  • Computacenter experience in internal processes, systems, tools, and platforms. 
  • Team-oriented working and thinking. 
  • Willingness to travel.
