A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Solution Architect to join Computacenter’s dynamic and rapidly expanding Workplace Consultancy Practice. Successful applicants will be joining a truly global organisation, delivering services into over 70 countries worldwide, with major offices across Europe, the Americas, Africa and Asia; a recognised leader of the IT services business with a unique vendor-independent, infrastructure-focused perspective on the market.
While operating primarily with workplace solutions, you will help shape, assure, and deliver complex, integrated solutions for our clients, driving business outcomes and growth across all technology practice areas. You’ll get to work with some of the most talented and passionate people in the business. You’ll have the opportunity to apply your knowledge to some of the highest profile projects and customers in the market. What you’ll do
- Attend customer opportunity / strategy meetings to understand and articulate business and technical strategy for the company and customer.
- Work closely with internal Sales, peers and SMEs to create solutions for Computacenter customers.
- Engage with C-level executives and senior IT management to align solutions with business strategy.
- Act as Technical Authority and lead for complex, enterprise-scale, mission-critical customer projects, throughout the Pre-sales lifecycle into the Planning and Initiation stages of delivery, maintaining high standards and compliance with internal policies and industry regulations.
- Provide qualification of designs or opportunities and produce high-level architecture/design documentation.
- Collaborate with vendors and partners to drive growth and stay up to date with current and future technologies, products and strategies to manage the ‘cradle to grave’ solution provisions cycle.
- Support colleagues in our Group Strategy & Portfolio function to identify and create new propositions and services to take to market.
- Perform technical governance and assurance across proposed solutions and post-sales consultancy engagements ensuring they meet the documented customer requirements and desired outcomes.
What you’ll need
Required Consulting Experience
- Applicants are expected to have a robust IT infrastructure foundation, supplemented by extensive experience and pertinent certifications from leading IT manufacturers and software vendors.
- Proven track record of leading large technical teams in the Pre-sales and execution phases of substantial IT transformation projects.
- Experience in collaborating with Senior IT Management and executives at the C-level.
- Capability to lead and own the entire customer engagement process, starting with the preliminary interaction to the successful completion of the project.
- Experience with Contractual Service is essential, particularly during Pre-sales activities, along with a well-rounded understanding of how solution designs can influence ongoing business operations.
Required and Desirable Technology / Vendor Experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft client and server infrastructure as well as Cloud architecture, in support of complex enterprise customer environments and digital transformation.
- Strong grasp of the Microsoft 365 suite encompassing architecture, interconnectivity, and solution implementation.
- Broad knowledge of Workplace solutions such as Desktop and Application Virtualisation, Collaboration services, Modern Management, and Identity & Access Management.
- Certifications in Microsoft solution areas such MS365, Azure, IDAM and Security would be an advantage.
