Expert Services are accountable and responsible for Technical Advisory Services working closely with our Customer and Partner Management functions; we deliver value by underpinning our Core Propositions back into our organisation and customers through an expert business enables focus; we facilitate product information; and we provide support to our vendors, manage supplier contracts, vendor opportunities and reporting within Group Technology Sourcing.
You’ll be working in a forward-thinking team – with a focus building service solutions for new software services customers.

You’ll be working in a role with the flexibility for homeworking with occasional travel to the office.
What you’ll do
You will be a competent design authority on larger or more complex solutions, demonstrating an understanding of the portfolio of services, the GTS business, customer / market needs and commercial factors.
You will identify, design and deliver larger or more complex architectures, strategies and solution sets ideally recommending re-use of standards wherever possible and always capturing dependencies/enablers.
You’ll be responsible for the design and communication of structures to enable and guide the pre-sales, sales, design and transition functions to design and implement integrated, and wherever possible, standard / scalable solutions.
You’ll be able to identify changes to service, process, organisation, operating model and other aspects may be required in addition to technology components, as the market and solutions change.
You’ll identify clear gaps in requirements, which are not fully met or, and any options or considerations which require a business decision ideally ahead of solution and service design teams discussing options with customers. The provision of comprehensive guidance on the development of, and modifications to, solution components to ensure you take account of relevant architectures, strategies, policies, standards, and practices and that existing and planned solution components remain compatible.
On a day-to-day basis this looks like:
- Implements robust service offerings with supporting documentation
- Services intra-operability design, testing and documentation
- Shapes pre-sales understanding of solutions that should be acceptable to the customer and may make solution/service trade-offs
- Supporting pre-sales with the understanding of the implications to cost and service of non-standard services and flagging this to governance as required
- Works with stakeholder groups to continually improve our service standard offerings and seamless implementation and running of them through assurance strategies
- Consult with pre-sales, sales, design and transition teams to ensure that solutions / designs can be implemented effectively and predictably with assured outcomes.
What you’ll bring
You’ll have a background in service design, ideally with experience working in technology sourcing.
You’ll also need:
- Experience authoring design and test documents for large, complex solution developments, incorporating strategic level risks and remedies and manages a large design team to achieve documented handover criteria
- In-depth experience in the creation of solution designs
- In-depth knowledge of multinational managed services contracts
- Experienced in leading on high level design documents for major solutions, managing design artifacts, standards, end-end design and maintains an audit trail for an effective design control process
- Able to deliver presentations and assessments on solutions/ requirements
- Ability to confidently have value based conversations with internal and external stakeholders about our standard services and inter-operability.
