Senior Project Manager

Life on the team 

 

This critical new role sits within the Transition and Transformation (T&T) team, a core part of Group Managed Services (GMS). Reporting into of the Portfolio Managers in Andy Gough’s Programme Practice.
As a Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for the successful outcome and delivery of Managed Services transitions and transformations (to agreed quality, time, and budget constraints).  
The Senior Project Manager often need to collaborate strongly with the Customer Exec roles where the deal is of significant scale or complexity, ensuring that their T&T Practice resource requirements and business outcomes are achieved. 

 

What you’ll do 


You’ll be responsible for delivering your assignments in accordance with the Group Service Take-on Receive handover from Deal Acceptance. Roles at this level will typically undertake projects in excess of £2m or of a complex nature and will typically be involved in pre-sales activity.

 

  • Achieves profitability and customer satisfaction on projects through astute commercial management
  • Develop, build and maintain strong relationships both internally and externally in order to achieve project objectives.
  • Produce management reports through relevant tools to provide up to date information on project progress.
  • Produce required project documentation to enable successful project outcomes.
  • Coordinate and plan resource requirements to ensure project outcome deadlines are adhered to.
  • Compliance with Projects Practice lifecycle to ensure best practice.
  • Typically responsible for projects in excess of £800k services value or complex engagements.
  • Actively involved in presales.
  • Responsible for estimating and pricing of the project element of bids in order to effectively scope the project requirements.
  • Responsible for managing multiple projects to ensure projects are delivered within timeframes and budgets.
  • Lead, coach and mentor less experienced team members to aid their development and increase capability.
  • Run Project Definition Workshop to define requirements and accurately scope project outcomes.
  • Act in accordance with Computacenter Information Security Policies and report any potential or actual Security events or other Security risks to the organisation.


What you’ll need

 

 

  • Prince2 Practitioner qualification or equivalent.
  • ISEB or APM qualified
  • Experience of working in a project team on at least 2 projects
  • Knowledge of initiation, change management, risk management, and the principles and practicalities of running projects.
  • Proven experience of Microsoft applications.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships.
  • Excellent literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Manages own and others workload.
