On the Project Management Industrial Placement Scheme at Computacenter, you will be joining Computacenter’s well-established and successful Projects Practice organisation as a Project Coordinator. The scheme is designed to give you on the job experience in Project Management.

You will join a business unit which is renowned for effectively supporting and developing our people. You will be given the training and support to work towards confidently delivering IT projects for our customers, some of the world’s leading organisations, spanning across both public and private sectors.

In simple terms, you’d be joining a company who advise organisations on getting the most from their IT, we implement the most appropriate technology solutions, and we even manage our customers’ infrastructure – we do it all! Project Management is all about people, our team works across all these areas to ensure we deliver successful project outcomes and delight our customers - so you can contribute to a team helping our customers to change the world. 

 

What you’ll do 

During the 13-month programme, you will be given an induction and training, where you will learn the fundamentals of Project Coordination, as well as our specific systems and our Project Management methodology & processes.

 

You will then take on a Project Coordinator role where you will support our Lead Project Managers and Service teams on a range of tasks such as;

 

  • Project reporting, this includes recording project schedules and progress to keep the team and customer informed.
  • Prepare and host meetings, internally and with customers.
  • Handle financial management for your projects.
  • Gain an understanding of our customer’s business objectives to then assist them to gain access to our range of services.
  • Have exposure to other functions across our business, to understand how we operate.
  • Opportunity to work on a diverse range of well-known customer accounts.
  • Develop an understanding of the IT Industry and gain first-hand experience of delivering a range of technical solutions.

 

These activities will develop your knowledge of the industry and the Project Management profession, and you will develop critical skills such as stakeholder management, presentation skills and commercial acumen. You may be involved in working internally or on one of our customer accounts, and you will be supported by experienced Lead Project Managers on these assignments throughout. You will be buddied up with one of our experienced Project Managers & Coordinators from across the business, who will be there to offer you guidance as you embark on your accelerated learning & development journey.

 

At the end of the 13-months you will head back to university to complete your degree with the potential to consider applying to re-join Computacenter on the Project Management Graduate Scheme in the future.

 

What you’ll need 

To be an undergraduate in your second year of university looking or a placement year in the industry.
