Installation Technician

About the role 
As an Installation Technician, you will uphold extraordinary standards of service for operations. Your responsibilities will encompass inventory management, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of essential hardware. Serving as the first point of contact, you will communicate with end-users to provide important updates and ensure compliance with the company’s standards and security policies. Additionally, you will design and edit technical user documentation, including specifications, integrations, and instructional materials. Collaborating with technology teams, you will identify gaps in our hardware and service levels, seeking opportunities to eliminate inefficiencies and non-value-added tasks.


What you’ll be doing 

  • Manage shipping and receiving of hardware, ensuring proper handling and documentation.
  • Monitor tracking information and status updates for incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Assist with vendor coordination for domestic and international shipments, including collecting required customs paperwork.
  • Track and maintain accurate inventory records for devices across global locations.
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and safe work area.
  • Perform routine inventory checks and update asset tracking systems accordingly.
  • Collaborate and communicate with IT and others involved in the shipment and receipt of products.
  • Support local and remote deployment of IT equipment, including preparing devices for delivery or setup.
  • Work with onboarding and offboarding teams to ensure devices are available, shipped, or returned as needed.
  • Follow secure wiping procedures for reusable devices to ensure data is safely removed before reuse or return.
  • Prepare devices for return, resale, or recycling as part of the buyback and decommissioning process.


What you have 

  • Minimum of 2 years of work experience
  • Excellent proficiency in English, both written and verbal
  • Resilience and flexibility
  • Fundamental knowledge of Windows and OSX security
  • Experience with ticket-tracking software
  • Familiarity with a broad spectrum of development collaboration tools, including Active Directory, Duo, Yubikey, Google Apps/Suite, and SSO
  • Knowledge of logistics best processes
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs
  • Knowledge of current and classic video game consoles
