About the role
The Contract Reporting Specialist – Major Contracts is responsible for overseeing the preparation, management, and submission of all required reports for major contracts and framework agreements to Canadian provincial and federal agencies and departments. This role ensures strict compliance with:
Contractual, legal, and regulatory obligations specific to the requirements, timelines, and terms and conditions of the agreement,
Maintaining accuracy, timeliness, and thorough documentation as it pertains to the agreements.
The specialist will support the management of significant contracts across multiple sectors, ensuring robust internal controls, resourcing, and audit-ready records.
Annual compensation: $100K CAD
What you'll be doing
- Collect, analyze, and validate data from internal systems and stakeholders to prepare reports mandated by Canadian federal and provincial authorities for all major contracts.
- Report to the sales organization on all sales and profits generated under each contract, ensuring that all financial reporting obligations are met in accordance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with Canadian reporting requirements, deadlines, and formatting standards for significant contracts.
- Track reporting calendars and maintain comprehensive documentation for audits and regulatory reviews.
- Collaborate with internal departments (finance, procurement, sales, solution sales, supplier diversity, contracts, etc.) to gather information required for major contract reporting.
- Monitor changes in Canadian regulations and update reporting processes accordingly.
- Maintain a secure repository of submitted reports and supporting documentation for future reference.
- Support audits, compliance reviews, and requests for information from Canadian government agencies.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in reporting for major contracts.
- Identify opportunities for sales to further capitalize on existing major contracts as a route to market, account penetration, or sales expansion
What you have
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Compliance, or a related field (or equivalent Canadian work experience).
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in compliance, reporting, or contract administration, ideally with Canadian federal or provincial contract experience.
- Strong understanding of Canadian contract reporting requirements and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines for major contracts.
- Outstanding organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Excel, databases, and reporting tools; experience with Canadian ERP or contract management systems is an asset.
- Strong understanding of sales strategies and techniques needed to sell using framework agreements
- Detail-oriented, with robust problem-solving abilities.
- Capable of working independently and collaboratively across functions.
- Strong ethical judgment and understanding of Canadian compliance obligations.
- Skilled in handling confidential and sensitive information related to major contracts.
