As an apprentice Project Co-ordinator in Computacenter’s Projects & Programmes Practice you will be reporting to a Project Manager(s) and supporting them in the delivery of stand-alone projects or work streams. These may be delivered within a Projects & Portfolio Office (PPO) aligned to a contractual service customer account, or you may be aligned to the Shared Services CPMO providing central support to several projects across the Practice.

Working under the direction of a Project Lead, you will have responsibility for several key activities, which could include some, or all the following: managing project resources, tracking that the agreed products are delivered, monitoring and tracking the project finances, supporting the management of project controls (including risks, issues, customer dependencies and change).

We are looking for individuals who wants to begin and build a career by joining our Apprenticeship programme. Some work experience in this area is beneficial but not essential. Our minimum entry requirements are five GCSEs at grade C/4 or above including Maths, English. You need to be confident using computer software, including Microsoft office, Particularly Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint. You need to be able to communicate well with others as you’ll be working with several people within the business both in person and in writing.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertaking apprenticeship programme training and updating portfolio of evidence on a regular basis
  • Your overall responsibility is to support your Lead PM in the successful delivery of a project or assignment
  • Creating reports and analysing data
  • General administration and data entry to support the teams and in line with departmental objectives
  • Manging team mailboxes
  • Undertaking relevant training courses
  • Developing a good understanding of IT systems used.

What's in it for you?

This apprenticeship will give you the Project Management Qualification (PMQ) and Associate Project Management Apprenticeship Level 4 qualification. You will achieve this by splitting your time completing your online course alongside work experience at Computacenter. This apprenticeship lasts for 24 months on a fixed term contract with an apprentice wage paid. There is no guarantee of a permanent job at the end of the contract, however successful completion of the apprenticeship programme will mean it is highly likely that you will be offered a full-time position at Computacenter.
