ICT Support Technician Apprentice

The Technical Resources Group (TRG) provides a flexible means of supplying Technical Resource staff to all Business Units enabling Service Teams, Project Managers and Consultants to call on the correct engineer numbers and skill sets as required. This enables Computacenter to respond more quickly and effectively to changes in the customer environment.
Working alongside our team of highly skilled technicians will help you develop your skills and knowledge and potential to move into other areas of the business.
Salary: £17,000
Start date: 4th September 2023
Location: Chester or Bradford- Please note this role will be based on site full time.
Programme length: 16 months
Contract type: Fixed term

What you’ll do
For the duration of your programme, you will be studying towards an Information Communications Technician level 3 apprenticeship qualification. Throughout your apprenticeship, you will dedicate 80% of your time to work and 20% to studying toward your qualification.
We are looking for multiple individuals to join our team of engineers working on our customer sites in Chester and Bradford to deliver IT support alongside our team of technicians.
You will also be supporting the following:
- Diagnosing, testing, repairing, and cleaning a range of Laptops, Desktops, Workstations, servers, and handheld devices.
- Using internal IT systems to manage workload, stock levels and communication with end users.
- Opportunity to work on our customer sites and develop great customer service skills.
Alongside your apprenticeship qualification you will also get the opportunity to complete several externally recognised accreditations, some of these include:
- Warranty accreditations with Dell, HP and Lenovo
- Microsoft training in Windows 10 and Office 365
- BCS Level 4 Award in Business Processes
- CompTIA A+
- CompTIA Cloud Essentials+
What you’ll need
- You’ll have a strong interest in IT and a minimum of two GCSEs graded 4-9 (C-A*) including English language and Maths.
- You’ll be driven with a strong work ethic.
- You’ll have a willingness to learn with great attention to detail.
- You’ll be enthusiastic, engaging, and have good communication skills.
- You’ll be proactive and good at managing your time.

Please note you will not be eligible for this apprenticeship programme if you already hold or are currently working towards a qualification at the same or a higher level in a similar subject i.e. A Level, BTEC, or Degrees in technical subjects.
