Sales Specialist - Cloud and PHIT

We are seeking a Sales Specialist to join our thriving Platform & Hybrid IT sales team. Computacenter's offerings are developed around best of breed solutions with a Computacenter services wrap. The successful applicants will be responsible as subject matter experts to engage, understand, qualify, propose and lead the successful closure of identified next generation data centre and public-cloud solutions and service opportunities. We are especially interested in recruiting an individual with proven experience working with Central Government customers.


Main Responsibilities

  • Work with the Account team to identify and qualify Cloud and PHIT opportunities and develop pipeline within Customers
  • Provide end-to-end ownership for specialist aligned opportunities on behalf of the Platform & Hybrid IT business
  • Assist the customer through a process of understanding their requirements, defining a solution, creating a compelling proposition, and negotiating commercials and closing the deal
  • Managing the internal service providers and any external suppliers during the process of constructing solution offerings to customers which include multiple technologies, professional and contractual services
  • Evaluate contract spend in an organisation in order to optimise spending patterns, technology usage, and implementation strategies.   
  • Show insight and thought leadership to our customers and partners regarding cloud, consumption models and ‘as-a-Service’ contracts and commercial agreements
  • Develop strong knowledge of industry trends by developing proactive professional relationships with technology partners
  • Provide leadership and knowledge to customers and maintain a strong presence in the platform and hybrid industry community
  • Develop strategy to maximise opportunities and grow market share

The Ideal Candidate

  • Professional experience in selling Data Centre solutions
  • Experience selling public cloud, consumption and ‘as-a-Service’ solutions
  • Experience selling professional services and contractual services
  • Proven experience operating as a specialist / overlay
  • Proven track record of winning data centre deals between £500k to £20million
  • Experience negotiating large, complex deals
  • Ability to build relationships and develop strategic partnerships
  • Proven track record of consistently exceeding targets
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced sales environment
