Due to continued growth within our organisation, we are excited to announce we are now looking to hire a Portfolio Management Office (PMO) Lead into our Group Professional Services (GPS) organisation within Computacenter.


The successful candidate will join a thriving Practice delivering high-value transformation services to help our customers change the world. What you’ll do


As a PMO Lead in Computacenter’s Projects & Programmes Practice you will be responsible for leading a Portfolio Management Office (PMO). 
You will lead the engagement, be responsible for the business outcome and for the overall success of the change activity and will work within our assurance and governance process to ensure the PMO meets Computacenter’s and the Customer’s requirements and needs. 
This will include the oversight of a portfolio of opportunities throughout their lifecycle including pre-sales, delivery, and governance across the portfolio.
In support of this, you are expected to understand and articulate to customers both what Computacenter sells and delivers and have a good working knowledge of the technologies/solutions. 

You will ensure that all changes to the portfolio are governed by Internal Project/Portfolio Boards and Governance Review Boards.  


Delivery of a successful portfolio will include:

  • Understanding and influencing customer and CC strategy
  • Helping customers to select and prioritise initiatives to maximise Return on Investment (PMO dependent)
  • Building a high performing and motivated portfolio delivery team
  • Optimising the running of the portfolio (including resource, risk, issue and change management)
  • Undertaking portfolio level governance and assurance (in collaboration with the account aligned Project Practice assurer)
  • Optimising portfolio financial performance, including maintaining accurate forecasts
  • Driving continuous improvement and innovation
  • Building strong relationships across the customer and Computacenter ecosystem
  • PMO consultative services e.g. development of business requirements, fixing challenged PMOs & maturity assessments
  • Alignment to PMO strategic services and contribution to ongoing development


Your overall responsibility is to meet the commitments made to customers and internal stakeholders to successfully deliver the assignment you are leading as defined in your terms of reference. 

In support of this, you’re expected to understand and articulate to customers both what Computacenter sells and delivers and have a good working knowledge of technology, solutions and business transformation.


Key responsibilities:


Portfolio Management: Overseeing project/programme triage, Presales and execution. Helping customers prioritise resources to maximise return on Investment 
Governance and Assurance:  Ensure that projects/programmes align with the customer requirements, deliver value and are completed efficiently within scope, time, and budget constraints, either directly or through the assigned Project Practice assurer.
Business Growth: Work with the customer and account team to identify and pursue new project and programme opportunities

Contract Management: Develop a detailed understanding of the customer contract. Ensure project/programme delivery is undertaken in line with the customer contract and individual proposals developed in Presales

Financial Management:  Driving the successful delivery of the change portfolio to the agreed financial baseline to meet (or exceed) the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Relationship Management: Establish and manage (senior) stakeholder relationships across Computacenter, its suppliers, and the customer ecosystem
People (Matrix) Management: Collaborate with Practice Leads to shape and lead the PMO team. Creating an inclusive and rewarding environment, supporting people’s development and progression
Continuous Improvement: Own and drive a continuous improvement plan for the PMO


What you’ll need

 

  • A demonstrable track record of delivering medium to large, complex portfolios of change in an external customer facing environment
  • Past experience as a Senior Project Manager delivering medium-large projects
  • Trained and accredited in project and/or portfolio management methodology, for example Prince2, MoP, Agile, P3M3
  • Demonstrable leadership skills and personal gravitas
  • Strong coaching and mentoring mindset and skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain relationships 
  • Ability to consciously cultivate a strong professional Personal Brand and reputation
  • Able to apply a variety of influencing skills to enable the required outcomes for your stakeholders, to enable positive assignment outcomes
  • Ability to apply a variety of approaches including emotional Intelligence with flexibility, to adapt personal style and approach to meet specific customer needs and to resolve conflicts
  • Ability to articulate the value of project, programme and portfolio management to internal and external customers
  • Excellent Commercial and Financial skills
  • Understanding of current technologies and the ability to articulate the benefits in line with Computacenter’s propositions
