This is a flexible UK base location role ideally Midlands/South, and will require extensive regular UK wide travel.

The Consultancy Practice, comprises of around 250 experienced consultants. Their expertise covers a wide range of technology areas and advisory services that supports the delivery of Computacenter's propositions. The consultants are industry recognised as experts in their field, having attained some of the highest vendor qualifications. The consultants are organised into ten focussed teams, covering Networking & Security, Unified Communications & Collaboration, Physical Workplace, Virtual Workplace, Directory, Messaging & Mobility, Enterprise Platforms, Data Optimisation, Cloud, Virtualisation & Automation, Integrated Systems & Implementation and Solutions Architecture. Each team has a Technology Leader and a Resource Manager who lead and manage the consultants.



Main Responsibilities

  • Attend customer meetings to ensure and understanding of customer requirements and to assist with knowledge transfer
  • Quality assure deliverables, as required, produced by other team members to ensure consistency and accuracy of data
  • Keep up to date with SME focused technologies and product.
  • Manage, design and implementation of low risk/medium scale solutions
  • Delivery of quality solutions
  • Achievement of utilisation targets
  • Successful handover of technology designs and solutions to internal or customer support function
  • Enhancement of Computacenter's services reputation with customers, vendors, partners & internal audience
  • Ability to Own and create Low Level technical designs and input into High Level Designs.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Strong networking skills, CCNA/CCNP level certified, with demonstrable experience in delivery
  • Wide experience of Load Balancing technologies (F5 or Avi) Able to produce DLD documentation to a high quality, input to HLD and implementation of solutions based on documentation set.
  • Demonstrable experience of detailed level design and implementation of NSX-V & NSX-T
  • Demonstrable experience of detailed level design and implementation of Palo Alto security devices 
  • Exposure to Ansible and/or Python programming skills with the appetite to continue development
  • Basic working knowledge of API integration with primary vendor platforms (i.e. F5, Cisco etc)
  • Contribute to the technical design and provide SME input into bid, project and technical documents
  • More than 5 years' experience in designing networking and security solutions across a wide range of vendors.
  • Willingness to develop their own skills to maintain currency in market trends

Certification on one of the following technologies:

  • Cisco CCNA/CCNA
  • F5
  • Avi
  • VMWare NSX

Desirable Certifications:

  • Cisco ACI
  • Network Programming (Python, Ansible)
  • Cisco DevNet
  • Palo Alto
