Computacenter is looking for a Developer Experience & Platform Engineering Solution Architect to join our growing Cloud & Apps Practice, helping some of the UK's largest public and private sector organisations modernise software delivery through Platform Engineering, Internal Developer Platforms (IDPs), DevOps and Developer Experience (DevEx) best practices.

As a senior member of our Cloud & Apps Practice, you'll work at the intersection of technology strategy, architecture and delivery, partnering with customers to design and implement modern engineering platforms that improve developer productivity, accelerate delivery and enhance operational resilience.

What you'll do

• Lead customer engagements focused on Developer Experience, Platform Engineering and software delivery transformation
• Design and deliver Internal Developer Platforms, CI/CD solutions and cloud-native engineering capabilities
• Facilitate workshops with engineering leaders, platform teams and stakeholders to define target operating models and platform strategies
• Provide technical leadership across consultancy and delivery engagements
• Support pre-sales activities, solution design, bids and customer proposals
• Define best practices, standards and architectural patterns across our Cloud & Apps Practice
• Mentor consultants and architects while contributing to our growing Platform Engineering community

What you'll bring

• Platform Engineering and Internal Developer Platforms (IDPs)
• Developer Experience (DevEx) and DevOps transformation
• Kubernetes (AKS, EKS, OpenShift)
• CI/CD tooling including GitLab, GitHub Actions, Jenkins or Harness
• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or equivalent)
• Backstage or similar developer portal technologies
• Observability, monitoring and developer feedback platforms
• Secrets management and identity solutions such as HashiCorp Vault
• Progressive delivery, release orchestration and modern deployment practices
• You'll be comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders, leading technical teams and translating business challenges into practical, scalable engineering solutions
