Senior Cloud Engineer 

Life in the Team: 

Part of Computacenter’s Group Information Services function, Central Infrastructure operates from the UK, Germany, France, the US and India to deliver and support Computacenter’s core compute, storage, back-up and database infrastructure.  

It provides the underpinning technology that allows Computacenter to serve its customers everyday around the globe.  It plays a key part in how we align our technical strategy with Computacenter’s priorities and will be key in driving our adoption of cloud technologies. 

What you’ll do 

We are looking for Cloud Engineers to help us deliver key projects, build valuable relationships both within COMPUTACENTER and with clients, and develop strong capabilities through working with senior team members and talented colleagues.  

With a validated background, the candidates must prove an expertise in working with Azure cloud technologies and demonstrate working in a DevOps manner with an agile framework. 

Responsibilities 

• You will support the introduction, further development and operation of the Computacenter cloud platform and services. 

• You use DevOps methodologies for the deployment of complex infrastructures and services. 

• You will work in agile interdisciplinary teams with internal and external customers. 

• You will help us build, enhance and evolve the platform with a heavy emphasis on automation first principles. 

What you’ll need 

As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you are used to helping define the principles that Computacenter adhere to when operating our platform. We value collaboration in how we approach new challenges and evolve ourselves so we seek like minded individuals who can build solid relationships with our customers and internal teams. 

• Demonstrable professional experience working in a cloud environment in a senior engineering position.  

• You can work within the DevOps and DevSecOps framework and are used to operating in within the Agile methodology. 

• Automation first approach using Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Ansible etc. 

• Have actively worked on migration from on prem to Azure cloud programmes. 

• Extensive scripting skills (Bash, Phyton) 

• Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins) 

• Knowledgeable in the use of containerisation and modern architectural principles (Kubernetes, Docker) 

• Availability for On-call work outside business hours (extra paid) 

• Ideally, you will be certified to Microsoft AZ-400 certification. 

• Strong root cause analysis skills, investigation, diagnosis and reporting
