Third Line Build Analyst

A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a SC cleared senior Build Engineer based on a customer site in Hatfield. You will be responsible for development of customer software builds to a high standard of quality and consistency within designated timescales covering but not limited to New Build Creation, New Hardware models and Build Updates. You will also be responsible for assisting with communication and reporting liaising with clients and internal ISP’s and the ability to report verbally and procedural documentation of build processes for the benefit of knowledge sharing and improved to deliver to line management. Look to Innovate and develop existing build procedures / methods to enhance and streamline Build Management Service and liaise with clients and deliver presentations to customers as required. Working alongside a large number of Managed services customers. 

What you’ll need to succeed
The successful Senior Build Analyst will be able to rely on strong understanding of build implementation and communicating and reporting. We are looking for a professional who has credible experience with Microsoft deployment and Microsoft system centre configuration. The successful candidate should have a fundamental understanding of establishing trends, so management decisions can be constructed. You will be able to prioritise tasks, monitor call ques, which is key in a reactive environment whilst working as part of a team on larger solutions. You will be able to remain positive and calm when faced with difficult challenges.

Key Requirements
More than 3 years’ experience of installation and configuration of the following Operating Systems: Windows 7/8/10 & respective components; Windows Server 2008 / 2012 / 2016 / 2019 & respective components; Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT) / SCCM 2007 / 2012 experience

-    Provide assistance to determine and document technical specifications for a given build
-    Maintain technical specification documentation and customer-specific technical process documentation.
-    Installation and configuration of Microsoft Operating Systems
-    Effective delegation of build work where appropriate to 2nd Line Analysts
-    Performance of Non-Standard Technical Request activity, as directed by the Build Management Team Leader
-    Validation testing and subsequent report generation for customer builds presented to Build Management Team representatives
-    Management of hardware and source media required for build creation
-    Incident and Problem management and troubleshooting 
-    Maintain the highest level of working practice, with an emphasis on self-monitoring plus offering guidance 
-    Produce procedural documentation of build processes for the benefit of knowledge sharing and improved efficiency
-    QA / Test builds and documentation
-    Look to Innovate and develop existing build procedures / methods to enhance and streamline Build Management Service


Knowledge of the following:

 

•    Microsoft PowerShell and Visual Basic Script, or other object orientated programming   language
•    Installation and configuration of key business applications, i.e. Microsoft Office, Outlook etc.
•    Operating System Registry Hives & MSI technologies

 

Desirable Knowledge / Experience of the following:

 

•    Windows 10
•    Active Directory
•    Hardware familiarity (Hardware Engineer / Test Engineer / Portfolio Management Service)
•    VMWare/ Hyper V
•    ITIL
 
Working knowledge of the following:

 

•     Project Management frameworks, e.g. PRIDE or PRINCE
•     TCP/IP Networking
•     Microsoft Active Directory
•     WDS / PXE
