Our team

During this apprenticeship, you will be part of a team responsible for the management and development of business apps (applications) used by Computacenter employees and customers. Some of the core service platforms that you could use are, Cyberark, ScienceLogic, Citrix and Moveit.

 

About the apprenticeship Programme

For the duration for your programme, you will be studying towards a Level 3 Information Communication Technician qualification. Throughout your apprenticeship you will dedicate 80% of your time in work and 20% studying toward your qualification.

 

What you’ll be doing

As an apprentice, we will give you an overview of applications and the work involved in their development and support. Working with you, we want to help you develop your skills in line with the areas that interest you.

  • Working with the manager and the team to help and support with business applications
  • Learning how to be hands on for any technical work that needs to be done including pro-active maintenance, resolving customer challenges, and working closely with the design and provisioning teams.
  • Analyse, Document, and report on work completed to ensure compliance with Company and Customer Procedures.
  • Ensures that operational documentation is up to date and to meet customer and contract requirements.
  • Provides guidance and advice to less experienced colleagues to ensure consistent approach.
  • Escalate issues in line with company processes to ensure customer demands are met.
  • Able to communicate on issues with the manager or your Buddy
  • Ability to adapt quickly to dynamic team environments to maintain consistent effective contribution.
  • Act in accordance with Computacenter Information Security Policies and report any potential or actual Security events or other Security risks to the organisation

 

What should you bring with you?

As well as a strong interest in IT, you should be able to demonstrate the following.

  • Minimum of two GCSE’s graded 4–9 (C-A*) including English language and Maths
  • Works under general supervision.
  • Demonstrates analytical and systematic approach to resolving complex problems and assignments.
  • Takes initiative in identifying and negotiating appropriate development opportunities.
  • Demonstrates the ability to absorb and apply technical information.
  • Demonstrates an organised approach to work.
  • Awareness of health and safety at work.
  • Ability to assimilate and learn new technology

Whilst this is an 18-month contract and we cannot guarantee a permanent job at the end, if you work hard and push yourself in work and on the programme then there is every chance of securing a fantastic role at the end of the apprenticeship.
