 What is the role?


A challenging and exciting opportunity has arisen for the position of system owner, OnSite Systems. This a senior management position, leading a team of highly skilled and experienced technical consultants. OnSite Systems in this context refers to the applications and infrastructure that Computacenter use to enable secure and auditable remote privileged access into customer environments. The technologies comprising the service include solutions from CyberArk, Citrix and Ipswitch MOVEit, underpinned by Windows Server and virtualisation.


The candidate will ideally have a background in Privileged Access Management, related security platforms or workspace virtualisation, must be able to demonstrate a successful track record of customer service skills, whilst at the same time being able to provide leadership and direction to the technical team. The service scope includes line managing the SME team, continuous service innovation, improvement and project rollouts to customers.


You will ensure our technology meets the needs of the business and is enhanced to keep pace with our evolution and growth with security at the forefront. A key factor of the role is to work in close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders across the organisation including UK, Germany, France, US and Hungary. 




  • Implementation of the services to customers
  • Working to achieve very high levels of system stability
  • Ensuring that the service is fully compliant with best practice security and data protection policies and standards
  • Direct line management and technical direction to a core team of consultants
  • Partnering with the team responsible for operational support across Service Platforms
  • Close working with, and providing clear requirements to, a wide set of other teams that are responsible for the build and operation of dependent infrastructures (network, server hardware, storage etc.)
  • Acting as the primary interface to business stakeholders at all levels for all aspects of the service
  • Primary source of knowledge on all the service components and the way they collectively interact to provide the end solution
  • Ensuring the core systems are kept up to date with relevant security patches and are version upgraded as necessary
  • Tracking features of new product capabilities, working with internal customers to agree feature exploitation and adoption


Competencies, Experience: 

  • Technical background in Citrix and or CyberArk
  • A system ownership mindset and behaviour is crucial
  • Capable of communicating with stakeholders and users, managing their requirements and expectations, and delivering on promises.
  • Ability to implement best practice security controls and operating to ITIL standards.
  • A broad technical understanding of all aspects of IT systems, covering all layers of the infrastructure stack (application, database, operating system, server, storage, network etc.).
  • Extensive experience with implementing and improving new solutions with external customers
  • Proven track record of, both management of technical system based teams and service delivery to customers
  • Strong commercial awareness and an ability to operate in commercially sensitive and important situations 
  • Strong problem-solving skills, being able to identify innovative yet practical solutions to complex problems 
  • Solid technical and analytical skills, with ability to interpret & present data clearly 
  • Strong communicator verbally and in writing, with keen listening skills 
  • Experience with working with third party providers 
  • Ability to prioritise competing demands and tasks 
  • Well organised, self-disciplined and motivated 
  • Ability to navigate large, complex organisations 
  • Ability to be hands-on and effectively delegate where appropriate with a self-motivated, can-do attitude that leads by example
