Solutions Manager

Your new role

The Solutions team within Group Information Services (GIS) are a team of solution managers responsible for helping the Computacenter sales team win new business, centered around Managed Services customers.

As a solution manager you will be responsible for the creation of innovative cost-effective solutions integrating Computacenter and client systems to deliver Managed Service solutions.  You will be responsible for designing the delivery of technical solutions within the sales cycle, you will be working in a consultative role working closely with sales and the internal technical solution owners, driving a technical solution to meet business requirements in a pre-sales opportunity.


Role and Responsibilities

  • You will be accountable for the success of your assigned projects, working with the sales team and potential customers to understand their business requirements
  • You will define, scope and create the most appropriate technical solution by using well defined standard solutions
  • You will quickly develop a sound understanding of Computacenter’s tooling landscape
  • You will participate in sales demos and discussions and respond to Request for Information/Request for Proposals and Best And Final Offer (BAFO)
  • You will provide estimates and quotes for the technical solution, including resource effort, resulting in the creation of the cost model
  • You will conduct Due Diligent sessions with the customer before BAFO and post contract verifications
  • You will take the solution through the internal governance process
  • At the BAFO stage you will prepare the Statement of Work and take it through internal governance
  • You must be prepared to act as a point of escalation for technical issues and provide support where required to other team members
  • You will ensure that stakeholders are kept informed through regular communication and updates
  • You will identify the gap between customer requirements and the standard solution
  • You will identify and manage Technical requirements outside of the standard solution
  • You will actively participate in team meetings, proactively suggesting improvements to processes, helping to drive the team to constantly improve and innovate


What you need to be successful

  • Proven record of Pre-sales or business analysis experience in IT managed services with demonstrable experience in clarifying requirements, understanding the commercials behind of a solution and validating the proposed solutions against standards
  • ITIL foundation certification
  • Understanding of IT service management tools such as Service Desk tools, Avaya Contact Centre technologies, BMC Remedy, ServiceNow, and others
  • Understanding of B2B integrations
  • Understanding of IT Infrastructure including connectivity solutions, ADSL, MPLS, Internet VPN
  • Experience in writing Statement of Work documents including commercial elements
  • Ability to identify risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies (RAID) associated with respective solutions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proactive approach with the ability to independently find solutions to challenges
  • Experience in managing and developing an excellent relationship with a wide range of stakeholders
  • The ability to collaborate effectively with different teams and SME’s to ensure that the solution is deliverable and aligned to Computacenter’s standard
  • Willingness to travel to customer workshops where required
