We have an exciting opportunity for an undergraduate to join our dynamic Solution Center team as a Software Developer and Programmer. The Solution Center team is responsible for showcasing our offerings and driving innovation in the business.
The market has become more software-driven and therefore we are offering this opportunity to talented undergraduates with a passion for coding who can bring our solutions to life. This is a 13 month Placement opportunity based in Hatfield, Hertfordshire with a potential for Europe-wide travel.
What you’ll do
As part of the 13-month placement programme as a software developer, you will have the opportunity to:
- Create showcases to bring to life our global strategic investments.
- Assist in ideation sessions with live prototyping.
- Be responsible for creating demonstrations and Proof of Concepts.
- Provide innovation consultancy across the business and for our customers.
- Have hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment which will provide an opportunity to learn and work on innovative solutions for our customers.
- Research and suggest new innovative technologies and methods to solve our project requirements.
What you’ll need
As well as a strong interest in IT and software you need to:
- Be studying at undergraduate level in your second year of university for a Computer Science focussed degree.
- Demonstrate a willingness to work with any development platform, including Microsoft suite (eg Azure, Power products), backend development (e.g. NodeJS), automation/scripting (eg Python), web development, and Cloud technologies (Azure/AWS/Terraform).
- Have the ability and drive to pick up new languages or techniques as needed.
- Display confidence in bringing own ideas into any task and being a self-starter.
- Show a strong work ethic in a dynamic customer-facing environment.
- Work autonomously and independently where required.
