Senior Business Analyst (E-Commerce) – Product and Sales Systems


A new opportunity has arisen for two Senior E-Commerce Business Analysts to become part of Computacenter, a leading independent provider of IT services and solutions. Based in Hatfield, the role will be reporting to the Head of Product and Sales Systems. You will work closely with the stakeholders in our technology sourcing business, to analyse, develop and innovate solutions within our web shop, sales order management and quoting platform, as well as the surrounding landscape.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Operational Delivery function, where you will be part of a team driving change to the core systems supporting Computacenter’s business.


Main Responsibilities

•             Own and manage the project requirements definition stage of the project lifecycle, working closely with business stakeholders and subject matter experts to define clear business needs, converting those requirements and user stories into high quality functional specifications.

•             Work closely with development teams to ensure that required outcomes are realised, extensible and are consistent with the Computacenter strategy and systems roadmap.

•             You will work on a range of projects including smaller, tactical changes where you will responsible for managing your assigned projects through to delivery. On larger projects you will work with the support of a project manager.

•             As a senior systems specialist, you will be accountable for the success of your assigned projects, including setting demand management expectations, managing change requests, outcomes, deadlines and budget.

•             You will need to identify synergies in overlapping projects or requirements, requiring the successful candidate to quickly develop a sound understanding of Computacenter’s system landscape.  Identify cross-project dependencies, maximise opportunities for simplification, and effectively manage project constraints.

•             Facilitate and contribute to successful user acceptance testing, in order to confirm requirements are met.

•             You must be prepared to act as a point of escalation on complex issues and providing support where required to other team members.

•             Operate a ‘shift left’ approach to ensure that support teams are actively engaged in business take on, facilitating that the acceptance into service (AIS) process is completed for new projects.

•             Actively participate in team meetings, proactively suggesting improvements to systems and processes, helping to drive the team to constantly improve and innovate.

•             You will be responsible for doing your part in achieving the delivery of both department and team objectives.


The Ideal Candidate

We are seeking a senior business/systems analyst with demonstrable experience in defining and delivering change in an agile, multi-platform E-Commerce landscape. The successful candidate will have at least 5 years’ experience working across different platforms and technologies. You will need to have expert knowledge of requirements gathering, running POC’s, working with user stories/journeys, as well as solid communication and influencing skills. You will need to be able to manage concurrent projects, so organisational and prioritisation skills are key to success.


You will have:

•             At least 5 years’ experience defining change in a fast-paced E-commerce environment.

•             Ability to work with business stakeholders to gather and define requirements, then collaborate very closely with development teams to realise technical solutions.

•             UX design experience.

•             Excellent documentation, communication and interpersonal skills.

•             Experience of engaging with different teams across multiple platforms, managing requirements to ensure that the delivered solution works as an end-to-end process.



•             SAP E-Commerce Cloud (Hybris) and/or Salesforce experience.

•             Integration experience – API’s, ETL and interface definitions.

•             Cloud service integration.

•             Background in applications development (developer experience).
