Job Title: Senior Payroll Analyst
Location: Hatfield based – hybrid-working
About the Role
We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Senior Payroll Analyst to join our Payroll team at Computacenter. In this role, you’ll play a key part in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for our UK operations.
You will act as a subject matter expert, driving compliance, continuous improvement, and delivering an exceptional employee experience.
What You’ll Be Doing
- End-to-end processing of complex payrolls, ensuring accuracy and compliance with local tax and employment regulations.
- Remaining up to date with any legal changes through websites and reading material.
- Ensuring that all company benefits are monitored and correctly recorded and comply legal legislation.
- Liaising with internal stakeholders (HR, Finance, Reward) and external providers to resolve payroll queries and ensure data integrity.
- Leading or supporting payroll audits and year-end activities including P60s, P11Ds, and HMRC submissions.
- Additional understanding of the complexities of items such as, additional payrolled benefits, Parental Leave, Sharesave schemes, overtime etc
- Identifying and implementing process improvements to streamline operations and reduce risk.
- Acting as a key contact for escalated payroll issues, providing guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
- Production of management information and reports sharing this information and using Excel to an advanced level
- Managing employee queries relating to payroll
- Assisting in various projects to improve the payroll service and SAP systems
- Identify and implement continuous improvement across the payroll with a focus on improving efficiencies and automation
- Maintain and process payroll system reports responsible for legal patch testing and involving the Payroll Assistants.
- Prioritise and action daily/weekly tasks to meet SLA’s
- Assisting the global mobility team with overseas assignments.
- Controlling the year end processes and creation of new tax year
What you’ll need
- Proven experience in a senior payroll role, ideally within a large or complex organisation.
- Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation (knowledge of international payrolls is a plus).
- Experience with SAP payroll systems is a must.
- Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive problem-solving mindset.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and work collaboratively.
- CIPP qualification (or working towards) desirable.
