Second Line Test Analyst

As a 2nd Line Test Analyst, the day to day role will be focussed on delivering the testing service provided by Computacenter to the customer by designing and executing scripts to ensure that the subject under test (application, system change or new hardware) meets the customer requirements and delivers the appropriate level of quality expected.The test analyst will need to look at provided requirements and standards provided by the customer in order to design test cases and scenarios to adequately cover them. The Test analyst will be responsible for reporting any defects within the chosen Test Management tool (SpiraTest), providing detailed information that can be used to pass on to the relevant resolvers and performing confirmation testing once completed.

 

Additional details: This role is based 5 days per week on site at our Hatfield HQ and you must have Security Clearance (or be willing to obtain this).

 

What you’ll do

 

Computacenter is looking for a dedicated test analyst to assist with test planning and execution for projects and deliverables to our customers. These may include (but are not limited to)Newly packaged applications; Application version updates; Windows Feature releases; Windows security patching; Introducing new hardware onto the estate & Introducing new systems onto the estate. In addition, you will also cover the following:

 

  • Various types of testing which may include Component, System Integration testing and OAT. The test analyst may also be required to assist with other phases of testing to be carried out by the customer (such as UAT) if required.
  • Write and execute test scripts based on a prepared test plan
  • Contribute towards the creation of the test plan by providing possible test scenarios
  • Communicate with a wide variety of different internal support teams ranging from Wintel, networks, application packages and service management
  • Able to communicate with key stakeholders, including customers in a professional manner

 

What you’ll need

 

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Operating systems (Windows 11 and Windows Server)
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft applications (M365 – Client and Web interfaces)
  • Knowledge of WorkSpace One as an End point management system for both End User Devices (physical hardware) and VDI’s.
  • Knowledge of supporting a variety of hardware types (laptops, desktops, tablets and supporting peripherals including accessibility devices
  • Knowledge of hardware/software security access at a low level (controlling group policies, restrictions etc).
  • Knowledge of Test Management systems (SpiraTest; Jira etc)
