SOC Manager UK

We have an exciting opportunity for People Manager to join our growing internal security organisation sitting within our GIA Security Operations team, managing the 24x7 SOC function , to ensure a coordinated response to the increasing cyber threats to the business.
Working as a SOC Manager you will be responsible for the management and delivery of the 24/7 Security Operations Center services for Computacenter. 

The SOC Manager will deliver the service, to Computacenter reporting to the Group Head of Security Operations, with responsibility for a team of cyber security operations specialists

The function will deliver and manage common SOC technology including, but not limited to: 


  • Security Information Event Management (SIEM) 
  • EndPoint Detection and Response (EDR) 
  • Security Orchestration Automation and Response (SOAR) 



What you’ll be doing


  • Leads, develops and coaches a team of directly or professionally assigned analysts and implements performance management solutions as required.
  • Defines team objectives at an individual level to support the fulfilment of the functional area's mission.
  • Manages the overall skill mix of employees according to the needs of the function and ensures that sufficient skills are always available.
  • Manages the allocation of team resources according to operational, support and project requirements.
  • Effectively guides employees to successfully move change forward.
  • Contributes to the business strategy (within the department) and prioritizes projects and goals accordingly.
  • Ensure cyber security events, alerts and incidents are investigated efficiently and acted upon within operational agreements.
  • Ensure all investigations requiring a security incident are raised in agreement with SLAs / OLAs
  • Assess operational events (non-security incident) and escalate when appropriate
  • Ownership and management of all SOC process and procedures
  • Identify and deliver tuning improvements to the SOC technology
  • Support Incident response as a virtual member of the Computacenter Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT) 
  • Ownership and management of regular KPI’s for SOC delivery
  • Delivery of regular metrics and reporting on SOC delivery.
  • Acts as contact person in the escalation chain.


What you’ll bring


  • Previous people management experience 
  • Knowledge of the Cyber Security Industry and a basic understanding of IT technologies
  • Analytical approach to problem solving.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to review technical or procedural documents or process outputs to assure defined requirements have been fulfilled
  • Ability to interpret technical information and be able to relay this in an understandable manner
  • Willingness to self-development of own knowledge according to market, customer and CC requirements within Information Security
  • Ability to influence senior management (Internal & customer) on security operations good practice
  • Ability to identify and drive security operations improvement
  • Willingness to self-development of own and team’s knowledge according to market, customer, and CC requirements
  • Ability to create regular reports at detailing the delivery of services offered.
  • Ability to attain relevant security clearance
