SAP Finance Solutions Manager

Location: UK - Hatfield | Job-ID: 38321 | Contract type: Standard | Business Unit: Finance/Accounting & Controlling


This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced SAP-savvy finance professional to join our Group IS team and take ownership of our finance solutions capability. You will provide leadership for our operational service, as well as help set strategy for new and enhanced solutions as part of our ongoing growth and organisational change. Managing our finance solutions (as part of a global SAP footprint), you will collaborate to CFO level, ensuring our technology meet the needs of the Business. A key factor of the role is to work in close collaboration with various stakeholders from across the organisation including UK, Germany, France, US and Hungary.




  • Provide leadership of our global SAP FICO solutions and associated IT/IS services
  • Build and maintain an effective relationship with senior stakeholders across the organisation
  • Help determine and deliver our finance solutions strategy
  • Identify and implement new solutions to meet the needs of our growing organisation
  • Assist with the planning and prioritisation of solution backlog and development roadmap
  • Ensure operational performance against KPIs
  • Work with internal and external teams to ensure stability of the operational service


Competencies, Experience:

  • Technical background in SAP FICO (ideally ECC and S/4), suiting candidates who have strong process knowledge as well as being part or fully qualified (eg CIMA, ACCA)
  • An understanding of financial controls and reflecting these through workflows and controls on financial systems
  • Extensive experience with implementing and improving new finance procedures
  • Strong commercial awareness and an ability to operate in commercially sensitive and important situations
  • Strong problem-solving skills, being able to identify innovative yet practical solutions to complex problems
  • Solid technical and analytical skills, with ability to interpret & present data clearly
  • Strong communicator verbally and in writing, with keen listening skills
  • Experience with working with third party providers
  • Ability to prioritise competing demands and tasks
  • Well organised, self-disciplined and motivated
  • Ability to navigate large, complex organisations
  • Ability to be hands-on and effectively delegate where appropriate with a self-motivated, can-do attitude that leads by example
