We are excited to announce we are now looking to hire a Project Manager 2 UK into our thriving Group Professional Services (GPS) organisation within Computacenter.

What you’ll do

 

As a Project Manager 2 (PM2) in Computacenter’s UK Projects Practice, you will either manage projects through the entire lifecycle or manage specific work-streams within larger projects and programmes. The projects could be stand-alone projects or may be part of a Projects & Portfolio Management Office (PMO). You may also be asked to lead less complex PMOs. Your responsibilities could include pre-sales activities—such as leading, scoping, estimating, and designing projects or assuring solutions—through to delivery and closure.
You will need to understand and manage various commercial models, including Fixed Price, Time and Materials, or Resource on Demand. Successful project delivery will involve building and managing your team, ensuring the delivery of agreed products, maintaining effective communication, managing project controls (including risk, issues, customer dependencies, and change), and providing high-quality professional outcomes that satisfy our customers and stakeholders.
Typically, you will be responsible for projects with services revenue of up to £1.5 million.

 

Specific tasks include:

 

Project Management: Throughout the entire project lifecycle, you will be expected to understand and adhere to our methodologies for delivering Professional Services engagements to our customers. Change Management: Own or ensure that the end-to-end change process for the assignment is followed to ensure full awareness and adoption of the project outcomes whilst minimizing working at risk/commercial exposure & optimizing our contribution. Business Management: Ensure that projects align with the customer requirements, deliver value, and are completed efficiently within scope, time, and budget constraints.

Contract Management: Manage the assignment scope and understand the commercial baseline, supporting or leading the development, negotiation, and agreement of the statement of work and any subsequent changes. 
Financial Management: Be responsible for the successful delivery of the assignment to the agreed financial baseline to meet (or exceed) the key performance indicators. These are typically defined and agreed with the sales team and other key stakeholders in the statement of work and cost model. 
Relationship Management: During your assignments, you will create and manage the stakeholder relationships across Computacenter, its suppliers, and customers, ensuring that a positive and constructive relationship is created and maintained. 
People Management: You will be responsible for leading and shaping the team to ensure the successful delivery of your assignment. 
 
What you'll need

 

  • Trained in project management methodology, for example, Prince2 or Agile Techniques. 
  • A demonstrable track record of delivering less-complex large assignments and successful project outcomes. 
  • Experience of delivering IT Projects e.g. Smart Infrastructure, Modern Workplace, Desktop rollouts, deployments. 
  • Demonstrable leadership skills. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain relationships.
  • Ability to apply Emotional Intelligence with flexibility, to adapt personal style and approach to meet specific customer needs.
  • Ability to apply influencing skills appropriately to enable the required outcomes for your stakeholders and to enable positive assignment outcomes.
  • Understand the wider context for the Customer and Computacenter of the project you are leading. 
  • Ability to articulate the value of project management to internal and external customers. 
  • Excellent literacy and numeracy skills.
