Our team

During this apprenticeship, you will be part of the Central Operations teams within the Group Information Services (GIS). Central Operations delivers support to GIS by ensuring that the projects and services across the business are delivered, maintained, and tested to a high standard. There are two main focuses areas of expertise, Test management and Test execution. Test management ensures projects have a well-structured approach when managing the people, process, tools, and artifacts, to deliver to a consistently high standard of quality. The test execution area provides the skills and expertise to test a range of tools and technologies in a variety of ways, to safeguard Computacenter's production operations.

 

About the apprenticeship Programme

For the duration for your programme, you will be studying towards a level 4 Associate Project Manager qualification. Throughout your apprenticeship you will dedicate 80% of your time in work and 20% studying toward your qualification.

 

What you’ll be doing

Project Coordinator responsibilities include working closely with a Project Manager to prepare comprehensive action plans, including resources, timeframes, and budgets for projects. Therefore, you will:

 

  • Assist the Project Manager and wider team with planning as well as monitoring the project to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, plans and reports to present back to the team.
  • Liaise with internal teams to assign tasks and assist with schedule management. 
  • Analyse risks and opportunities by monitoring working hours, plans and expenditures.
  • Project issue management by using problem solving skills and taking appropriate actions to manage and correct the issue, should any arise.
  • Be a key point of contact for all participants in the project as well as sharing any relevant communications.
  • Assist in the project financial management process, including forecasting, monitoring, and tracking project finances.
  • Ensure standards and requirements are met through conducting quality assurance tests.

 

What should you bring with you?

As you can tell this exciting role will give you a lot of skills and knowledge, but we do have some requirements upfront.

As well as a strong interest in projects management you should be able to demonstrate the following.

 

  • For the apprenticeship qualification, we require you to hold a minimum of two ’s at GCSE’s grade C/4 or above in both Maths and English Language.
  • You should have excellent time management and communication skills, as you’ll collaborate with clients and internal teams to deliver results on deadlines.
  • You must also be confident in using computer software including Microsoft office
