Procurement Project Manager

Location: UK - Hatfield | Job-ID: 218171 | Contract type: Standard | Business Unit: Business Operations & Administration

Life on the team

Computacenter’s Global Indirect Procurement function is going through a period of change, with a broad programme of work focused on improving processes, systems and ways of working across the business.

As Procurement Project Manager, you’ll play a key role in managing and delivering a range of small scale procurement-related projects, including process, system and technology initiatives across the function. You’ll also play a key role in a larger company wide global programme where procurement input and structured project delivery are needed, including major system implementations.

Working closely with senior stakeholders across Indirect Procurement, Finance, IT and other business areas, you’ll coordinate delivery activity, keep projects moving and help turn agreed priorities into practical solutions from planning through to implementation and embedding.

What you’ll do

  • Lead the delivery of small scale procurement related projects, including process improvements, system enhancements, new tools and technology initiatives
  • Support larger scale regional or global implementations where procurement representation, coordination and delivery support are required
  • Act as the day to day delivery lead across a portfolio of procurement and technology initiatives, owning plans, milestones, dependencies, risks and stakeholder engagement
  • Support and facilitate workshops, capturing decisions, requirements and actions across both procurement focused and wider technical projects
  • Translate agreed requirements and project outcomes into clear actions, process changes, system inputs and delivery documentation
  • Coordinate testing, readiness activities, implementation planning and deployment support across relevant projects
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, user guidance and training materials
  • Support change management and user adoption to ensure solutions are successfully embedded
  • Provide post go live support and continuous improvement input once systems are live
  • Manage delivery governance, reporting and status updates for stakeholders
  • Analyse operational data and maintain structured, Excel based reporting to provide clear insight on delivery progress and adoption
  • Line manage and develop a direct report, supporting delivery execution and capability growth

What you’ll need

  • Proven experience managing and delivering projects in a procurement, operations or business systems environment
  • Experience working with procurement systems, technology-enabled process improvements or system implementations; exposure to tools such as SAP Ariba would be beneficial but is not essential
  • Solid understanding of end to end procurement processes, including Purchase to Pay (P2P) and Source to Contract (S2C)
  • Experience delivering smaller scale projects independently, with the ability to contribute effectively to larger cross-functional or global programmes
  • Confidence working across complex, cross functional stakeholder groups
  • Strong planning, organisation and delivery management capability
  • Ability to turn business priorities into clear project plans, coordinated actions and practical delivery outcomes
  • Line management or people leadership experience (preferred)
  • Strong Excel capability, including pivot tables and structured reporting
  • Degree or equivalent professional experience; project management qualifications (e.g. PRINCE2, Agile) are desirable
