JOB OVERVIEW

We are looking for an experienced Identity Management Specialist to support the GIS Workplace team with management and maintenance of Identity Management systems on a global scale.  You will be an expert in the field of Identity Management with a passion for detail and the determination to deliver excellence from this essential part of the workplace team. This is primarily an operational role with strong collaborative ties with project and BAU teams, as well as stakeholder engagement.

 

The Identity Management Specialist role is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Identity Management systems, to ensure the timely creation of new identities, management of existing identities, and removal as part of the user lifecycle.  Furthermore, the Identity Management Specialist will monitor threat management systems, with a focus on early detection of intrusions through Identity breaches, and monitoring and reporting of associated risk vectors.  This is a service management and technical expert role with specific knowledge in Identity Management from the operational security perspective.  The role is responsible to the business being the last line of defence against malicious code intrusions to the workplace computing estate that may cause significant disruption, loss of function, loss of reputation, or cascaded breach to customers and suppliers.

Roles & Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be experienced in threat detection techniques with a proven track record of technical excellence and risk management consultation expertise.

 

This role requires a subject matter expert on the principles of Identity Management and Identity threat detection but also requires the successful candidate to drive the user experience within the confines of operational security.  The role will challenge the successful candidate with a balancing of two opposing requirements of transparent and easy access for the user alongside acceptable levels of security and compliance to ensure the company exposes the minimum of a breach capability footprint.

 

The GIS Workplace Identity Management Specialist will report to the Head of Identity and Access Management and will form an essential element of the department delivering a secure and reliable working environment to Computacenter’s 17,000 users.

 

Key Responsibilities and accountabilities:

  • Deliver and maintain an Identity Management solution for all internal staff globally;
  • Be the last line of defence for all 17,000 workplace computing devices deployed across all countries, using cutting edge technology to detect Identity-based threats as they appear;
  • Be responsible for the management of the threat management system or systems deployed to protect the workplace estate;
  • Respond to and resolve all issues related to the intrusion or threat detection;
  • Ensure that all measures are taken to reduce our risk footprint while ensuring the end users can perform their duties without hinderance;
  • Develop the corporate Identity Management capability in line with the department’s strategic roadmap;
  • Be competent in SSO technologies (OAuth2, OpenID, SAML) as well as MFA deployments, including configuration of Conditional Access Policies;
  • Be an advocate of a secure corporate environment and promote a proactive security culture;
  • Provide reporting, presentation material and event monitoring as required by stakeholders, making use of the departmental reporting function;
  • Consult with project teams, management and other stakeholders on security requirements for new and existing applications, and be a subject matter expert on all threat management matters;
  • Be available to respond to incidents and major incidents during all times, and to be ready to be a key participant in major incidents connected to security, identity or access;
  • Provide internal and external audit support.

 

Key Requirements:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in an Identity Management position;
  • 5+ years subject matter expertise with an Active Directory technology;
  • Expertise in threat management with a proven track record of risk reduction in a workplace environment;
  • Expertise in configuration of MFA and SSO solutions;
  • Expertise in Microsoft AD and Azure AD with a focus on security;
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Defender for Identity (formerly known as Advanced Threat Protection)
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure and Azure Active Directory, as well as Azure Security Centre and associated monitoring and management capabilities;
  • Excellent report writing skills, with competencies in Excel and PowerPoint;
  • Capable of reporting to a range of seniority levels, including Executive;
  • Be able to converse at a business level in English;
  • A meticulous attitude towards problem-solving;
  • A desire to own and develop a service as a self-starter.

  • ITIL Foundation
  • Microsoft Azure Security Engineer Associate
  • Microsoft MCSE
