We are looking for a seasoned senior management professional to help the Director of Workplace to manage and drive our Identity and Access Management activities to deliver unparalleled service to all Computacenter employees across the globe.  You will be passionate, driven, motivated and committed to the highest levels of Customer Service.  You will also be commercially focused and understand the importance of maintaining those levels of Customer Service through the judicious use of alternative approaches such as offshoring.  This is both a strategic and Operational role and the successful candidate should be comfortable operating in either environment.


The Identity and Access Manager’s role is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Identity and Access Management division. This is an active, hands-on position, responsible for the planning, design, development, and the support of the identity and access management function and all its components. Team responsibilities include provisioning of user accounts for onboarding employees and requested non-employees; processing of changes to account security requirements as defined and approved management; assistance to users as required; maintenance of security infrastructure, including software and user directories; processing of user terminations; reporting on provisioning activities; automation of provisioning; multi-factor authentication.  You will also work closely with our security teams to always ensure the highest levels of Security

Roles & Responsibilities


The successful applicant will lead a multi-disciplined team to deliver commercially astute, practical, and effective IAM services to support to 17,000 colleagues around the globe.

This management role demands a blend of Strategic thought leadership, technical assurance, service management and customer focus, with an appreciation of how technology links to business processes.

The Head of Identity and Access Management will plan, coordinate, and lead activities across the full-service delivery lifecycle. This includes coordinating with business stakeholders, product owners, CTO architects and project managers. Working closely and in a collaborative manner with other GIS managers and the Director of Workplace, the End User Services Manager will ensure the structured and coordinated planning of their team’s development. Your reports will be primarily based in Germany, UK, and India though there may be some travel to France as well.


Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

  • Manage and lead the identity and access management function, ensuring prompt, efficient, and accurate resolution of identity and access matters.
  • Involvement in projects as needed as determined by the scope and related to the job function.
  • Provisioning and deprovisioning of user and service account access to all CC systems.
  • Centralisation of user access maintenance.
  • Creation and maintenance of policies, procedures, and internal control documentation required for user provisioning and deprovisioning.
  • Ensures access is provisioned and deprovisioned timely and accurately.
  • Perform other information security job-related duties as assigned.
  • Manage and monitors systems associated with Identity and Access management solutions; provide incident and problem management support.
  • Assess the current environment and makes continuous improvement to align with future state architecture.
  • Maintain patches and upgrades on a regular basis, upgrade administrative tools and utilities.
  • Proactively work with technology and product managers to identify potential issues and ensures effective remediation
  • Demonstrate advanced understanding of business processes, internal controls, risk management, IT controls and related standards
  • Identify and evaluate complex business and technology risks, internal controls which mitigate risks, and related opportunities for internal control improvement
  • Lead the architecture and design of identity solutions for the Cloud enterprise applications
  • Create and execute on a strategic multi-year roadmap for IAM, including governance and oversight
  • Acquire and manage the necessary resources to support all IAM functions, including leadership support, financial resources, and key security personnel, to support Information Security (IS) goals, and reduce overall organisational risk.
  • Advise senior management on IAM-related risks and security posture.
  • Ensure overall IT strategy and architecture plans and standards are translated into IAM service programs, methods, and technologies as they align with leading IAM practices.
  • Align IAM security priorities with the organisation’s security strategy informed by current understanding of what our security functions expect within in CC
  • Overall responsibility for architecture, planning, and delivery of enterprise-level IAM program. (Identity, access, privileged access, SSO federation, cloud)
  • Represent IAM services and strategies to key influencers and stakeholders across IT and business teams to ensure maximum effectiveness of the IAM Division.
  • Work with Workplace Director to plan and manage IAM budgets and forecasts, as well as reporting dashboards that align with service delivery guidelines.
  • Ensures a ‘one team’ approach across local, remote, and virtual teams and across the whole of the Workplace and wider GIS Organisation
  • Responsible for delivering services within the standard ITIL Framework, leveraging tools necessary to support Incident, Problem, Change and Request processes (ServiceNow, Remedy)
  • Responsible for ensuring effective monitoring and controls are in place to support services and technologies and working with our third-party partners to deliver these controls
  • Responsible for effective utilisation and reporting of resources across the Workplace
  • Escalation point for your Workplace Team in and out of hours (operational hours are 08h00 to 18h00)
  • Ensure all requests or escalations are dealt with in a timely and customer focused manner.
  • Ensuring that the team deliver both normal activity and priorities, encouraging multi-tasking and balancing workload, providing clarity on what is expected of team members and managing/tracking delivery progress and results
  • Responsible for ensuring best practice and proactive system monitoring to mitigate risks to IT services and data
  • Reviews efficiency opportunities and foster a continuous improvement culture in the team
  • Responsible for ensuring systems in scope of Disaster Recovery (DR) deliver against the requirements of the Business Continuity Plan (BCP) and that all staff are involved in the regular tests
  • Responsible for ensuring that operational documentation is consistent with best practice and reviewed regularly
  • Promotes, understands, and is fully committed to a blended support model encompassing internal teams and 3rd party suppliers as required



Key Requirements:

  • 8+ years of relevant experience in Information Technology with primary focus on operations.
  • 3-5+ years of hand on experience in one or more IAM technologies such as Quest One Identity Manager, Okta, Thycotic (PAM), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Active Directory.
  • Experience with administrating, implementing, and supporting Identity and Access Management solutions.
  • Understanding of Information Security principles (e.g.: NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF), FIPS) and basics of Information Security policy, techniques, and implications across computing platforms.
  • Must have ability to troubleshoot system failures, identify root cause and fix issues, ensure availability and integrity of the system.
  • Exceptional organisational skills with an ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
  • Ability to translate technical statements and explanations in business, easy to understand language for consumption by management and business users for incidents and escalations as well.
  • Ability to prioritize work without management direction and provide clear and documented status updates to the team.
  • Must be able to effectively perform both independently and collaboratively as a strong team contributor.
  • Advanced technical proficiency with Windows Active Directory (Azure and On-premise) and Systems Administration.
  • Ability to document concise technical design specifications.
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with Single Sign On (SSO) tools like Okta highly preferred.
  • Experience with Privileged Access Management (PAM) tools such as BeyondTrust highly preferred.
  • Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure preferred.
