Life on the team
As a Business Information Security Officer (BISO) within the Cyber Security function, you will be joining an experienced team of security professionals focused on protecting Computacenter and our customers from cyber threats. The team operates as a trusted partner to the business, ensuring security risks are understood, managed and aligned with wider business objectives.
We have one UK-based role available, offering a hybrid working approach with two to three days a week on site (Hatfield or Blackfriars, with other UK locations considered). This role operates in line with Computacenter’s business partnering approach, applying a cyber security lens to protect and support our internal business services.
The role will primarily support Group Business Services (GBS), working closely with functions such as Legal, HR, Finance, Facilities and Group Development. You will build strong relationships with stakeholders to embed security into business processes and operations, acting as the key point of alignment between GBS and Cyber Security.
As part of the wider Group Information Services (GIS) Cyber Security team, you will operate within a matrixed environment, working closely with Strategic Partner Matrix teams and specialist security functions to support the delivery of our evolving cyber strategy. This is a highly collaborative role, where BISOs act as the bridge between Cyber Security and the business, translating risk into practical action, influencing decision-making, and ensuring security is embedded in how the business operates day to day.
What you’ll do
- Responsible for security partnering across the assigned business area, acting as the primary interface between Cyber Security and the business.
- Develop and maintain the business unit’s security approach, aligned to business goals, risk appetite and strategic priorities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders, providing clear, pragmatic and business-focused security advice.
- Provide visibility of the business unit’s cybersecurity risk posture, supporting informed decision-making at a senior level.
- Advise on risk treatment options and mitigation strategies, balancing security requirements with business needs.
- Drive security improvements, initiatives and risk mitigation actions across the business area.
- Support security compliance across the business unit, ensuring alignment with regulatory, contractual and Computacenter standards.
- Act as a security subject matter expert across business initiatives and major change, ensuring appropriate and timely security engagement.
- Represent Cyber Security within the business, translating strategy, policy and risk into practical, actionable outcomes.
- Guide and influence key business decisions, ensuring security considerations are understood and appropriately managed.
- Understand the business unit’s key performance indicators (KPIs) and how cybersecurity risks impact them, using this to drive appropriate risk management and prioritisation.
What you’ll need
- Experienced information assurance / cyber security manager or equivalent within IT services.
- Experienced business stakeholder management across international and dispersed teams.
- Experienced risk manager, with knowledge of cyber security risk methods.
- Knowledge of business and systems transformation, including formal methods of managing change.
- Knowledge of Information Security frameworks and standards such as ISO 27001/2 or NIST.
- Generic knowledge of key IT platforms, methods, and applications, with a comprehensive understanding of information security / cyber security from a people, process, facility, and technology perspective.
- Ability to identify and drive security risks and service improvement.
- Comfortable and experienced ability to interact with all levels of management.
- Can interpret and apply complex security topics and able to explain simplified from first principles.
- Entrepreneurial and solution-oriented thinking; cost awareness.
- Good decision-making skills. Strong advisory and negotiating skills whilst being result and customer orientation.
- English language (fluent verbally and written).
- Willingness to self-development of own knowledge according to market, customer, and CC requirements.
- Willingness and flexibility to travel within the respective region (EMEA, APAC, AMERICAS).
- Ability to attain relevant security clearance.
