Due to the expansion of our Evergreen managed services, a new opportunity has arisen for an Evergreen SCCM deployment and troubleshooting engineer to join our thriving business. The successful candidate will work alongside the Evergreen Subject Matter Experts and our Exception Management team, assisting with the triage of failed Windows 10 and Office ProPlus deployments, reporting and trending.  The role will also extend to deploying Ad-Hoc Evergreen related packages for challenging devices across all customer estates as and where required.  The role will also extend to working closely with our internal teams, Delivery Managers, Stakeholders and Customers.


Reporting into the Senior Operations Manager, the Evergreen Deployment Engineer will be part of a wider team dedicated to Evergreen Services working closely with colleagues and stakeholders across GIO Service Lines. This will be a busy and exciting time for the right candidate, and an opportunity to help strengthen the team structure to ensure that our contracted services are delivered on time and in line with our customers’ expectations.


Roles & Responsibilities


Understanding the Feature Release and its potential impact– 70%

•             Investigate failed deployments directly in SCCM.

•             Ability to triage failures based on complex task sequences and collection structures.

•             Powershell scripting ability.

•             Use WMI queries to set conditions on task sequence steps.

•             Own and resolve 3rd line incidents via Remedy queue.

•             Execute Win 10 and Office update deployments to “exception users” via SCCM.

•             Design and execute any plans for remediation (failed deployments, hardware issues, etc).

•             Production of Management Information where required (KPI’s / SLA’s).

•             Participate on Insider Preview Build updates.


Customer facing activities – 30%

•             Support Delivery Managers with SCCM Evergreen deployment status reporting.

•             Provide trend analysis and where required to support conversations with Stakeholders and Customers via Teams and general presentations (PowerPoint, Excel).

•             Understand GPO/AD, licensing and security policy impact.

•             Work with internal and external teams to meet your objectives.


 Key Requirements


 3+ years of Windows Operating Systems exposure

•             Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager experience (SCCM):

  • Package/Software deployment, reporting, query, trend analysis/troubleshooting

•             Windows 10 operating system experience. 

•             Office ProPlus experience.

•             Microsoft Windows AD/GPO product knowledge.

•             Knowledge and experience of supporting core / enterprise / O365 applications deployed in SCCM

•             Full exposure to ITIL based Operational service delivery.

•             Ability to work under pressure and adapt quickly.

•             Self-motivated, able to work off own initiative or as part of a team when required.

•             Excellent knowledge of IT platforms, equipment and applications supported within relevant areas.

•             Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional work teams toward task completion.

•             Ability to take ownership of, and progress escalations and incidents through to resolution.

•             Committed to client satisfaction and ownership of issues.


Skills Desired:

•             Microsoft Certification (Windows 10, SCCM, MCSE, MCSA). 

•             Proven Presentation skills.

•             Service and process design and document creation.

•             Business requirements analysis.

•             Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate at all levels.

•             Cloud Managed Gateway

•             Experience of building, upgrading and supporting enterprise architecture SCCM platforms with multiple Distribution Points (on-prem and cloud)
