Commercial Manager

What you do:

 

The role of Commercial Manager covers the centralised responsibility of end to end finance transactions, commercial tooling governance, contract and partner management.

The Commercial manager must have the skills to ensure that the financial aspects and impact of contractual compliance are clear to all parties when entering agreements.

The ideal candidate will offer direction and instruction around centralising and maturing the function whilst reviewing and developing operational processes.

 This new leadership position of “Commercial Manager” will be reporting to a manager in the new Enablement & Commercial function.

  

The Commercial manager must have the skills to ensure that the financial aspects and impact of contractual compliance are clear to all parties when entering agreements.

 

The ideal candidate will offer direction and instruction around centralising and maturing the function whilst reviewing and developing operational processes.

 

What you’re responsible  for:

  • Principles & Definition of the internal Commercial Tooling Portfolio

  • Strategic and tangible improvements while maturing the contract and vendor management function to include a services partnering framework

  • Standards and policy related to Authorisation workflows related to internal (GIS) spend
  • Introduction of License strategy within Key vendors
  • Lead a team developing and improving the function.
  • Establish new capabilities for measuring operational excellence related to financial objectives
  • Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish business requests from the underlying true needs
  • Proactively communicate and collaborate with internal functions to analyse information needs to deliver Business and or Functional Requirements.
  • Centralise all internal (GIS) procurement into one area consolidating processes where possible
  • Participate in business reviews to recommend services partnering expertise on commercial and contract support
  • Be a change agent, ensuring users embrace new and innovative ways of working
  • Embrace teamwork while promoting a culture of openness and flexibility

Skills and knowledge you require:

 

  • Management experience
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback
  • Excellent reporting skills including detailed analysis and executive presentations
  • Excellent IT skills and knowledge in end user technologies
  • Strong educational background.
  • Strong commercial awareness.
  • Strong Negotiator.
  • Good numeracy skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.
