As a Category Manager at Computacenter you will be responsible for Developing and creating a deep understanding of vendor requirements and delivering a commercially focussed strategic sourcing function.

 

Main Responsibilities

  • Developing and creating a deep understanding of vendor requirements and delivering a commercially focussed strategic sourcing function 
  • Promoting Computacenter (CC) as the preferred route to market for our vendors and reverse selling CC’s capabilities into vendor partners
  • Engaging with stakeholder both within CC and externally to understand requirements and delivering commercial solutions and capabilities to meet these needs 
  • Developing and owning commercial programmes with vendors and building strategies to maximise the commercial benefit for CC from these programmes and ensuring CC compliance with vendor programs
  • Managing vendor accreditation programmes 
  • Driving group wide strategic commercial tenders
  • Facilitating the creation of solutions between Sales and Vendors, shaping and negotiating large, complex opportunities
  • Managing and driving the performance of suppliers to deliver CC objectives
  • Facilitating the development of joint partnership between CC and vendors
  • The Category Manager role will have responsibility for defined (sub) lines of business or a defined set of Vendor Partners within the Partner Management organisation, personnel responsibility for the Partner Managers, and management of relevant commercial partner relationships with manufacturers and distributors with the aim of achieving a commercial competitive advantage
  • The Category Manager is a ‘Player Manager’ role, with responsibility split between Product Line of Business Management and People Management (of Partner Managers).
  • The Category Manager is operationally involved in Big Ticket Deals and is empowered to give operational advise to Purchasers, as every Purchaser is reporting dotted line into (minimum) one Category Manager
  • Roles at this level will be fully accountable for their own work, establish their own milestones, team objectives and will delegate assignments
  • Roles at this level will demonstrate all the abilities needed to deliver at a senior level as a professional
