Asset Intelligence Business Analyst

What you do:


This new Business Analyst will be report into the Lead Asset Intelligence Consultant that reports to Victoria Compton in the Enablement & Commercial function.


The successful candidate will be tasked with consistent maintenance and improvement of the data held within the CMDB.  The main tasks within this role are varied and span from ensuring the accuracy of data within the CMDB and related data repositories, maintaining CI’s to a high standard of detail using discovery sources, to the creation and maintenance of key service metrics.

This role will be accountable for working within defined data standards policy that is fit to govern activities that drive accuracy and completeness of the information.


How you fit  in:


You will be part of a small team that is being established to manage, control and present data intelligence information related to technology assets owned by Computacenter (UK) Ltd. This function will inform and enable operational process, quality, measures and compliancy related to technology asset information. 



What you’re responsible  for:

  • Maintaining and improving the CI data held within the CMDB, with an overall aim for accuracy
  • Creation and adherence to data standards to build quality data
  • Creation and adherence to documented processes, and where relevant constantly looking for improvement and efficiency gains whilst not compromising data quality
  • Ensuring the smooth integration of data discovery sources into the CMDB including error handling
  • Using supported processes to load and maintain manual sources of data
  • Constant eye for detail and accuracy. Looking for opportunities to continually improve the data we hold
  • Running an audit process to prove the quality
  • Working collaboratively with internal teams to build the accurate CMDB and drive its use within the organisation
  • Driving the use and appropriate interfaces between Asset Intelligence and key ITIL areas, such as Change Management, Problem management and Patch Management
  • Governance of asset data to ensure reporting meets operational outcomes and demands
  • Ownership of the integrity of Configuration Management System
  • Look for opportunities to improve the function, embed best practice, continual improvement and standardised ways of working across function in collaboration with key stakeholders
    Skills and knowledge you require:
  • Graduate level or relevant technical experience within a large organisation or IT Industry
  • Proven experience within the Asset & Configuration discipline with previous experience with a recognised CMDB, such as BMC Atrium/Remedy
  • Experience with data discovery tooling and integrations. Such as SCCM, ADDM and ScienceLogic
  • Good working knowledge of office tools such as excel, sharepoint and other key Microsoft products
  • Excellent eye for detail and accuracy to enable the processing of large amounts of data and information
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written
  • Ability to influence and encourage collaboration within teams
  • ITIL trained or qualified
