Production Planning Manager

About the role
The Production Planning Manager is responsible for all Front of House non-production planning activities within the Integration Center.  New orders coming into the Integration Center for new or existing projects/services are processed and managed through the production planning team.

 

The Production Planning Manager assigns, allocates and manages staffing demands for current and future projects, ensuring the appropriate resource is assigned to the correct customer account. The Production Planning Manager ensures the Planning team follow the defined process, meet the agreed and documented internal KPIs and own both internal & external communications for all assigned projects.

 

The role will also assist in evaluating staff, developing staff through departmental rotation or project variety, and training and recruitment requirements.

 

What you'll be doing

  • Responsibility for ensuring the Production Planning Team deliver exceptional customer service to all (CC) customers of the Integration Centers
  • Ensure that all Production Planners adhere to and follow the prescribed process where required, and operate to the documented standard of the role.
  • Allocation and workload management of Production Planners
  • Overall responsibility for the management of Issues & Change requests into the Integration Centers
  • Review master schedules for optimal resource usage (and track progress accordingly).
  • Complete 121 reviews with production planners, documenting, setting & reviewing annual objectives.
  • Identify and assign appropriate staff to meet project needs.
  • Assist with securing additional or temporary resources when needed (includes sub-contractors).
  • Work with the IC Enablement Lead to identify areas of opportunity both for Service Improvement and Cost reduction
  • Track trends in resource usage (and regularly report status and make recommendations).
  • Redeploy staff as and when necessary, reflecting changing project demands.
  • Review requests for additional planning activity ensuring anything non standard is understood, documented and internally charged for.

What you have

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Must have 3+ years of Technology industry experience. 
  • Experience managing teams in the delivery of engineering services within the IT, datacenter or networking industry or similar experience.
  • Must possess a proven track record of fiscal responsibility with managing resources and budget, a high level of professionalism as well as excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • Must provide strong leadership including vision and promoting/leading change. 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Professional self-starter as well as working collaboratively with others.
  • Ability to collaborate with internal departments effortlessly. 
  • Ability to work with a cross-functional team that includes all levels of the organization.
  • Project a professional image and strong business acumen during customer interactions.
  • Familiarity with the technical concepts, terms and practices used in the assessment and implementation of Practice products and services. 
  • Excellent computer skills including MS Office. 
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Project and other Project Management tools preferred.
  • Ability to assess, create staffing plans and associated budgets within plan.
