About the function and the role


Group Technology Sourcing (GTS) have created a Centre of Excellence in Budapest within our newly formed Expert Services department. GTS Reporting is part of Business Support, which is one of four key expert units.
GTS Reporting is a multi-lingual team with an international outlook, responsible for the provision of performance and operational reporting and applications for our internal teams, our customers and vendors. We provide timely and conscise information to our users to drive their decision making. The aim of the team is to ensure our applications are easy to use, give clear information and allow users to interogate data for problem solving. The Team is split into two functions, one focussed primarily on servicing standard report requests and analysing customer requirements, the other, technical development team builds solutions to meet customer expectations and to automate the creation process to increase efficiency for the end-user. 
 

Your future tasks will be... 


As part of this team, your main responsibilities will be to broaden our database expertise; formalise support of our key services, manage the centralisation of our data dependencies, enable our report developers to provide full solutions and ensure strategic development of business lead data consumer resources.
This will include  the design, programming, packaging and deployment of all: 

  • New reports
  • System / applications used for the data management or production of reports
  • Interfaces and API constructs and schemes
  • Scheduling systems for automation
     

On a daily basis:

  • Dataset development

                                    Own the field addition requirements pipeline and requests for services from internal departments. Prototype field addition code. Work on increasing efficiencies of data imports and handling

  • Tabular Model design

                                    Prepare business data views for prototyping in Power Query, PBI/DAX etc, including mapping to IS datawarehouse sources. Work with IS teams on production of new models

  • GTS Reporting owned report builder application 

                                    Understand and control the existing datasets and import models and their relationship to the central datawarehouse

                                    Understand and monitor daily jobs / imports and troubleshoot any issues and communcate to the business

  • Creation of presentational front-ends for reporting that are clear, concise and accurate
  • Responsible for GTS reporting library
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and design & develop solutions
  • Representative to various councils / operating steering groups for reporting
  • Responsible for legislation adherence e.g. GDPR or Works Council Agreements
  • Responsible for the creation and publication of all Executive and Sensitive reports 
  • Build relationships within the other analyst communities at the company and IS to share best practice and keep up-to-date on developments 
  • Provide technical support to the end-users and GTS Reporting Analyst team

 
You are the ideal candidate if...

 

  • You have strong SQL server database development and management skills including relational database theory, data base structure and permssions etc. 
  • You have strong SQL programming knowledge for interrogation and querying objects, transforming / creating / updating / inserting and deleting tables
  • You have excellent oral and written skills in English; German can be an advantage
  • Good knowledge of Office 365 apps including Teams integration, SharePoint, Power Automate
  • Excellent knowledge of PBI / Excel including handling data sources, M, DAX measures, report design and visualisations, VBA and Power Query
  • Relevant qualification/training followed by several years of professional experience
  • Excellent logical working method for problem analysis and resolution
