Job Introduction
 

As a Junior DevOps Engineer you will work in a focused delivery teams building multi cloud architectures and technologies to be used on public and private cloud environments. You will be working within the DevOps team, deliver stable, reliable, fault-tolerant solutions to our clients, as well as helping to expand and improve an automated and reliable build and delivery solution for our development teams.
As a predominately engineering role you will have proven skills implementing modern, scalable platform solutions using a range of new and emerging technologies from developed and deployed with DevOps tooling

 


What you'll do

  • Design and implement complex multi-technology solutions for customers consistently
  • Define solutions, technologies and standards to blueprint best practice 
  • Produce high quality assignment documentation and assure deliverables produced by team members to ensure consistency and accuracy within a solution
  • Lead a team defining, designing and implementing solutions for customers 
  • Host customer meetings to present solutions from a technical and implementation approach 
  • Highlight technical risks that may impact the success of the solution for our client 
  • Quality assure deliverables produced by team members to ensure consistency and accuracy 
  • Provide thought leadership for, Peers, the Practice, internal clients, our customers and partners 
  • Influence customers, suppliers and partners at account level
  • Understand the relationship between own specialism and wider customer/organisational requirements. 
  • Facilitate collaboration between stakeholders who have diverse objectives
  • Analyses requirements and advises on scope and options for continuous operational improvement. Takes all requirements into account when making proposals
  • Demonstrates creativity, innovation and ethical thinking in applying solutions
  • Advises on the available standards, methods, tools and applications relevant to own specialism 

 

 

What you'll need

  • Have experience of working in a team of DevOps or DevSecOps practitioners.
  • Have experience of working within Agile project frameworks like Scrum, Kanban or Lean Software Development
  • Have DevOps Tooling experience (Automation, Orchestration, CI/CD, Testing etc.)
  • Have awareness of CI/CD tooling such as Jenkins, GitLab or similar.
  • Have experience of using Hashicorp Terraform and Vault
  • Have an understanding of Agile Delivery (Kanban/SCRUM/XP/Lean/SAFe)
  • Have an understanding of DevOps Management (JIRA, Confluence)
  • Interacts with and influences colleagues and has working level contact with customers
  • Applies methodical approach to issue definition and resolution 
  • Takes action to develop own knowledge and represents this in their work 
  • Communicates fluently, orally and in writing, and can present information to both technical and non-technical audiences 
  • Experience of Openshift, Tanzu or Kubernetes is desirable
