Computacenter Group Professional Services (GPS) 


Group Professional Services encompasses Consultancy in the UK & France together with the Project practices across the UK, France and Germany. We are made of up of over 1,000 skilled practitioners with deep expertise across core infrastructure technologies and industry standard architecture and project management methodologies. 


All roles within Computacenter GPS will: 
•    Actively maintain skills with current and future market developments, technologies, product and Computacenter strategies. 
•    Build and enhance relationships with peers, Computacenter's Account Teams and Partners 
•    Act in accordance with Computacenter Information Security Policies and report any potential or actual security events or other security risks to the organisation 
What the role is: 
As a Azure Principal Consultant you will deliver both pre and post sales technical consultancy to our customers, leading teams of consultants in delivery engagements as well as providing pre-sales qualification, bid response and design to consultancy engagements. This role is UK based, and will involve travel to Computacenter and client sites.  


As a predominately client facing role you need proven skills in a customer facing position, designing and implementing multiple technologies to corporate or public sector organisations. 


Where you’ll fit in: 
You’ll be part of a Practice, within the UK Professional Services function, supporting the business in either project or consultancy lead engagements. 
•    You’ll have clear areas of accountability and will be given appropriate autonomy to lead customer engagements. 
•     You’ll also form part of a wider community of Consultants and will have the opportunity to actively contribute to initiatives either specifically aligned to team, community or wider Practice. 
•     You will have sound generic, domain and specific knowledge necessary to perform effectively in the business and take action to develop own knowledge.   

What you’ll do:  
•    You will be responsible for influencing and shaping Azure solutions during pre-sales engagements.
•    Provide qualification of solutions approach and produce engagement documentation for internal and external consumption 
•    Define solutions, technologies and standards to blueprint best practice within the technology tower 
•    Design and implement solutions for customers consistently and with quality, using our methodologies and processes 
•    Provide opportunity-specific Technical Assurance, Quality Assurance, Governance & Customer 
Satisfaction of pre and post sales consultancy engagements  
•    Define solutions, technologies and standards to blueprint best practice within the technology tower 
•    Produce high quality assignment documentation and assure deliverables produced by team members to ensure consistency and accuracy within a solution. 
•    Work as part of a team defining, designing and implementing solutions for our customers 
•    Attend customer meetings to present solutions from a technical and implementation approach 
•    Highlight any technical risks that may impact the success of the solution for our client 
•    Quality assure deliverables produced by team members to ensure consistency and accuracy within a multi-technology solution 
Ideal candidate: 
We align our Consultancy roles to the Skills Framework for the Information Age (SFIA).  We expect a Principal Consultant to operate at SFIA level 3 & 4 (Apply & Enable).

The candidate is familiar in the following base infrastructure concepts within Azure· 
•    Commercial experience of design and delivery of Azure Cloud solutions.
•    Azure Architecture Review
•    Azure Architecture (detailed level)
•    Practical Azure implementation experience
•    Impact of commercial options
•    Automation/Tooling experience - Terraform /ARM)
•    SME areas (AAD/Subscription/Logging etc)
•    Azure Solution Architect – Associate
•    3+ years hands on experience of defining and implementing a DevOps practice
•    3+ years of experience with one or more of the following, CI/CD, automation and containerization technologies such as Jenkins, Ansible, Kubernetes, Redhat Openshift, terraform, etc
