Computacenter seeking confident and experienced network professionals, Projects delivering new network infrastructure projects.  The candidate will be required to apply their experience, knowledge and ability to capture requirements and needs to provide solutions or designs for these requirements.  The position also calls for a candidate to be hands on to design and deploy agreed solutions into production ready for “business as usual” function.  Successful applicants should be familiar with Datacentre architecture with sound knowledge of routing and switching. They should possess good team working and communications skills in order to effectively deliver solutions clearly and on time - reporting to key stakeholders, interested parties and project management. 

 

What you'll do 

  • Ownership and responsibility for the delivery of networking projects
  • Consult with business to capture and gather requirements.
  • Produce high and low level detailed designs.
  • Deployment of network technologies into production using CIS and other industry standards
    • Connectivity – MPLS/SD WAN/IPSEC/DSL
    • VPN - Remote Access/Authentication/Firewalls
    • LAN – Wireless/Wired/QoS
    • Datacentre – ACI switching and routing
  • Implementation of Carrier services into Cisco ACI based datacentre architecture.
  • Recommendations of solutions and ideas.
  • Inputting details into and updating project plans.
  • Tier 3 escalation resource for incident resolution.
  • Consult with various technology support groups as part of problem resolution efforts.
  • Proactively evaluate network environments using various management tools.
  • Assess vulnerabilities, identify and implement mitigation plans.
  • Contribute to enterprise network strategy/solutions development and technology refresh efforts.
  • Provide input to network enterprise design standards and maintain network topology diagrams.
  • Participate in technology integration efforts with other engineering and support teams.
  • Provide direct support of audit and ad hoc consulting engagements.
  • Ensure compliance with departmental and enterprise security configuration standards.
  • Manage and govern relationships with technology vendors utilised in the enterprise network.
  • Provide Technical leadership and guidance to other and junior personnel.

What you'll need 

The candidate must possess strong to advanced knowledge in all aspects of Datacentre networking and Routing/Switching.

  • Expert in Routing Protocols BGP & OSPF using Cisco ISR4000, ASR1000 Series routers etc.
  • Expert in Switching L2/L3 with different platforms of Cisco switches Nexus 7K, 9K, Catalyst 9300/9500/9800, etc.
  • Expert with Wireless LAN using Cisco Catalyst 9800 with 9130 Access Points
  • Good understanding of Cisco SD WAN or Viptela
  • Expert with troubleshooting and hands-on for ACI based routing & switching.
  • Experience in implementing and troubleshooting the following technologies: Fabric Path, ACI Contracts, Service Graphs, Micro Segmentation, MPLS, PBR (Policy Based Routing),
  • Experience with design, configuration and support of datacentre, campus and remote solutions.
  • Experience leveraging network management tools and performing packet analysis as part of incident/problem resolution.
  • Knowledge and experience of installing and operating Best of class firewalls (e.g. Check Point, Firepower, ASA)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a flexible work environment and multiple locations if needed.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Minimum CCNP Datacentre, Routing & Switching
  • Ideally CCIE/DC (minimum written qualified) nice to have but not essential
  • 7-10 years’ experience of enterprise Datacentre environments
  • 3-4 years working with Cisco ACI architecture datacentres
  • Advantageous to have experience with network automation and orchestration programming
